Inappropriate gift sent to child.

Good morning. I am an idiot.

I have a godson whose mother is lovely but very religious and a bit uptight. It’s his 9th birthday today. Long story short I placed an Amazon order to be delivered to their house, and he’s just opened it and it turns out that alongside the nice gifts I sent him, I accidentally included something else that was in my basket….

His dad (my friend) has just rung me howling with laughter, but the wife is apparently not at all amused.

I know AIBU but this is a public service announcement to double check your basket when you’re sending things to someone else.

Jesus.

This is hilarious! I find that po-faced people being unamused makes things even funnier, too.

My mum and I made a show of ourselves at a spa a few years ago. We'd had a swim, then went into the steam room and sat on the tiled bench. My mum's wet swimming costume made a farting noise every time she moved, which made us chuckle. We then noticed two women glaring at us. It wasn't even that funny but the effort of trying not to laugh tipped us into hysterics. We ended up leaving to avoid causing any more of a scene 😂

P.S. We'd made it clear what was causing the noises so they weren't under the impression she was actually farting in an enclosed public space!

I think she’s pretty rude though. You went to the trouble of getting her son a present, made a genuine mistake and she seems very high handed. I wouldn’t be apologising at all.

I don’t think it contained chocolate. The ones I’ve seen on Amazon were just the wrappers.
