I have a very unusual name which I dislike.
I know the names I am considering for DD2 are ‘common’ but I love them.

I love Florence and Flo/Florrie

I love Matilda and like Tilda / Tilly/ Matty

Love Penelope but not pen/penny/nelly

I do love Rose but wonder is it enough ???? I had considered Primrose but not sure !!!!!

What do you think?
please help as baby arriving asap!

I have always loved Emilia but worry there are too many!

startrek90 · 28/01/2023 07:01

Matilda or Penelope as those are.my daughters and my mum's names 😍

mintdaisy · 28/01/2023 06:52

Matilda

Tree12 · 28/01/2023 06:28

I have a Florence/Flo/Flo Flo - we get lots of comments on what a lovely name it is.

tealgate · 28/01/2023 06:25

My friend has just had a baby dd and she's called Penrose. It can be a girls name too

They're all 👍, but think she'll definitely be shortened to Pen/ny.

I love Emilia too, could you do a slightly different version? Amalia?

TwoPointFourCatsAndDogs · 28/01/2023 06:01

Love Penelope. They’re all lovely.

Emmeline was top of my shortlist.

HallieHufflepuff · 28/01/2023 06:00

I personally like:
Matilda (Tilly) and Rosalie (Rose)

HungryandIknowit · 28/01/2023 05:56

All great, including Primrose.

PinkSyCo · 28/01/2023 05:54

I hate the name Florence. Penelope will definitely get shortened to Penny. I like Matilda, but know a fair few Tilly’s. Rose is timeless and beautiful, but I can’t imagine talking to a baby and using just plain Rose, so would probably babyfy it and use Rosey posey when talking to her.

Pearfacebanana · 27/01/2023 22:58

Florence Matilda

CanofCant · 27/01/2023 22:51

Rose but if DS was a girl he would have been Rosa or Ramona

RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella · 27/01/2023 22:49

I really like Florence or Penelope 🙂

MonkeyPuddle · 27/01/2023 22:46

I have a Matilda who’s 2, we call her Tilda or Tildy. I don’t know any other Matildas, despite hanging out in various play groups most weeks.

Chlobo89 · 27/01/2023 22:30

Matilda! Always been my favourite girls name

dustydewdrop · 27/01/2023 22:29

I love Emilia.

I like Tulsa and Tilly none of the rest for me but it’s up to you anyway

Sorry TILDA not Tulsa 😂

Zanatdy · 27/01/2023 22:24

Definitely Florence. Not Penelope as someone will shorten to Penny, including herself maybe when older. So don’t chose a name you don’t like the shortened version of

GargleGargoyle · 27/01/2023 22:23

Emilia or Florence

noworklifebalance · 27/01/2023 22:22

Florence & Matilda are very common names around my way.
Really like Penelope

sevenbyseven · 27/01/2023 22:21

I love Rose and Matilda.

Not keen on Penelope but if you do go for that I how about Nell as an alternative nickname? 🙂

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 27/01/2023 22:19

PenPenPen1 · 27/01/2023 20:00

HEY.

You wanna say that to my face?

What kinda name is Pocket full of dog treats anyway?

😂

It's the name Penny I hate, not the person. Unless you're my former boss, Penny 😉

@Lostmyway86

Really? Makes me think "middle aged tea lady"

My thoughts exactly. I was the bane of my school days being called Florrie.
