Writing about her idyllic Christmas..I had no idea about her husband, is she still with him?

I'm staggered she chose to stay with him.

Me too. Sad

She didn’t do any interviews for her last book in a high profile media outlet, maybe something obscure. In terms of her as a quality brand, she’s over.

Lostthetastefordahlias · 24/09/2024 11:19

I am sure you’re right @newnamethanks . I hope she is happy really, just every so often the jawdropping hypocrisy of the TST column grates. I do think the launch of “Darling” was pretty subdued and probably not what she wanted for it to avoid attention on Eric, but her most recent book was heavily publicised.

newnamethanks · 24/09/2024 10:41

There will be no explanation. There is nothing acceptable to be said about the situation. If there were, it would have long been sold to the public along with the other 'insights into my lovely life'.

newnamethanks · 24/09/2024 10:30

She's not afraid of it, it's not a secret. It was covered extensively in the press at the time and further discussed across social media and continues to be so, on occasion. Perhaps she feels it adds 'interest' to her life? Cooking now? Maybe. I understand she has a country kitchen in which to be photographed so maybe a logical next step for her now her 3 children are grown and live elsewhere.

I am not subscribed to her substack, has she ever said anything about this - I remember them both promising explanations at the time but these have not been forthcoming as far as I’ve seen? Certainly nothing in the Times who continue to pay her for her other thoughts. Odd and insulting indeed.

Absolutely nothing from her about it all. She used the ‘never explain, never apologise’ PR approach.

Lostthetastefordahlias · 24/09/2024 08:17

There must be something not obvious going on, you would think. She can’t just have chosen him over being able to properly progress and enjoy her career and also over spending time with her youngest child. Perhaps he is suicidal/ abusive/ covering for someone else. Its a sad way for her life to turn out - the way they have tried to brush it under the carpet, she must be constantly afraid of someone mentioning it in both her personal and professional life.

paranoidnamechanger · 23/09/2024 22:43

Isn't it interesting how low profile she is these days? A decade ago she was one of the 'Twitterati', fawned over by the likes of Caitlin Moran, she had a book out every couple of years, had three columns in The Sunday Times, and was often featured in other media. Now it's the opposite of that. Was it all worth it, I wonder, sticking by Joyce.

BobbyBiscuits · 23/09/2024 12:11

Omg I did not know her husband was a paedo!? That's fucking sick. Good job I won't pay money to read her then.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 23/09/2024 12:10

I've previously written to TST to complain about her still being employed but didn't get a response.

How on Earth was she at the funeral? Presumably the parents must know that India Knight chooses to live with a convicted paedophile? How could they tolerate her even being in the church? Or even tolerate her having any place in their social circle, to be honest.

They probably had other things on their mind than vetting guests.

She has zero self-awareness. None whatsoever.

This!

Absolutely stunning hypocrisy in this Times article (14 Sept 2024) from India about Strictly Come Dancing

I still read the newspaper too but I won’t read a single word she has written ever again.

So, in a nutshell, India Knight is happy to tolerate child abuse?

Yep.

Because the British media landscape is built on nepotism and connections, and they all protect each other.

I wonder if people in this thread also don't know about Emma Barnett's dad.

Who wasn't a paedo

HermioneWeasley · 04/02/2024 19:40

I haven’t clicked on an article of hers since I heard about her standing by Joyce. Disgusting for standing by him and enabling him.

NobilityScooter · 04/02/2024 19:39

I cannot fathom how anyone can stay with someone convicted of child abuse crimes. Convicted means a jury found them guilty. How can you stand by someone after they've been proven beyond reasonable doubt to be a child abuser?

LadyEloise1 · 04/02/2024 19:37

That's very kind of you @Rebeccaagar.
I'm not sure I'd be as kind.

Rebeccaagar · 04/02/2024 10:18

she might not be a bitch, she could be abused herself. Pedaphiles are abusive people. Their sphere of influence does not stop with children. People who were abused in their own childhood, physically, emotionally or sexually, often have arrested emotional development. This makes them as susceptible as a child to being abused. Calling India knight a bitch when we don’t know her might be throwing the baby out with the bath water. I would never judge a person who is involved with a known abuser until I knew them personally.
