I'm a dead ringer for a well-known celebrity and I take great delight in behaving like a complete dick when approached by the public.

ScruffMuffin · 25/10/2022 17:20

I once sat near Ellen MacArthur on a train. It was not long after her record-breaking around the world exploits, which I'd followed closely. I'd even been one of the many people sending her regular encouraging emails. Although I admired her (we are about the same age and size and the only significant thing I'd done that year was have a baby!) she was happily sitting in standard class with nobody paying her any attention. I guessed that was what she would prefer and decided to leave her alone.

The best reply I've heard of is 'Hey lads, this chap doesn't know who he is'.

😂

I was lucky enough to meet Rory McCann (drool), Timothy Dalton, and Jim Broadbent at a pub in Wells whilst they were filming Hot Fuzz. They were having dinner with some of the other actors (not Simon Pegg) and were incredibly lovely and chatty. Top blokes, all of them.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 25/10/2022 14:20

Friend of mine has served and chatted with Katie Price in a gay pub and said she was lovely, charming.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 25/10/2022 14:19

Dean Gaffney (Robbie in EE) used to be well known in a town/city where I grew up for getting off with loads of local women and having sex with them. Super sleaze.

My ex said that Charlie Brooks blanked him in his health club, said he'd met Alex Reid the cage fighter and he was lovely.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 25/10/2022 14:18

Oh, another one. Have had the pleasure of being shoved past by Gemma Collins in a Towie bar in Romford...

She really shoved past me (VIP area) and gave me a filthy look.

Mark owen (Take That), paid for my coffee at a train station when my card declined. Chatted for a while about his kids, very smiley and just lovely. Ever so polite

The guy that played Beppi de Marco in Eastenders was starying at the same hotel as us. Going back 20 years here. There was a pool table in the basement bar and we were playing a game. He strutted in with a few
mates and expected us to let him have the table. We told him where to go. Then the next morning at breakfast as we were leaving the dining room at the end of service they walked in and expected to be served even though breakfast had finished. Vile man.

He always used to say no likey no lighty.

LeMoo · 24/10/2022 21:53

You all got off lightly, we were on location and David fed my foot to a lion

BillLius · 24/10/2022 21:38

I met David Attenborough and he got all lagered up on the Carlsberg Special Brew and told me that it was well known industry secret that he has an identical twin brother and they alternate being DA every other day so that David can get a bit of peace from the limelight. He said that his identical twin was a bit of a c* so maybe this is why half of you have had a good experience of him and the other half had an unfortunate encounter with his evil twin.

Mistaken identity, from Jeremy Vine's book about himself. Sitting on the loo in a train, one of those scary ones with self-opening doors, the door opened and someone was waiting outside. "Jeremy Paxman!?!" "Yes I am. That's me".

Bobbie1976 · 24/10/2022 19:33

Maybe David Attenborough is sick to death of people wrecking the planet? Most humans are enough to frustrate anyone.

You should read Revenge - Tom Bower about Meghan. Whole new insight into her behavior. However considering what Charles Andrew and Camilla have done I think it's a joke how MM is highlighted as the worst.

Taranta · 24/10/2022 19:22

Of the lovely celebrities I've met, top of the list has to be David Suchet, with whom I worked a few times, he was absolutely charming. Also, randomly, Courtney Love was great, albeit this was the v early 90s not recently.

Well bloody hell, I'm jealous now MadameBaskerville. Why you and not me? And you met the Dalai Lama. So unfair.

Not sure about all these people who say David Attenborough is lovely. Last year me and my DH were in pub in Birmingham, and Attenborough (or DA as I shall henceforth refer to him) was at the bar, apparently in a break from filming Blue Planet at the Birminghsm Sea Life Centre. I'm a huge fan so I went and asked if he could pose for a pic with me. He was pretty wasted, and started bragging about he was the best natural history presenter of them all, how he had had a threesome with Michela Stratton and Chris Packham, how he could easily beat up the bloke Backshall from Deadly 60 and how if he had been in Steve Irwins position he would have killed the stingray with his bare hands just for fun. He was really lairy and asked me if I fancied a quickie in the toilets. DH intervened at this point and told DA he'd probably had enough to drink and was making a scene. DA responded by grabbing a pool queue off a rack, kicking our table over and breaking the queue over DHs head, then he grabbed him in a headlock and bit his ear off before the door man dragged him away. My DH is a cage fighter, so this was no mean feat. The manager then apologised and said he's often like that when he'd been on the Stella, it was insane. The only other time I've met a celebrity was when I was working g on Dominoes pizza, and the Dalai Lama came in and asked me to make him one with everything.

I hate it when David Attenborough does that.

He can't hold his Ribena, that's his trouble.

Not sure if I can say the name but a met an Eastenders star over 30 years ago when he was an entertainer at a holiday camp. There's a photo of me ballroom dancing with him and he definitely had wandering hands. Not so bad with 16yo me but he tried it with my 14yo sister too. Everytime anyone mentions him my Mum calls him a dirty old man

I think it's ridiculous to keep bringing up "Meghan Markle wouldn't be friends with Piers so he's being mardy". I've never met her, but I think many who have met her have said that she's difficult.

The same is always said about him though. He was often telling the story about meeting her and liking her until one day he started being vile. It was like a witch hunt, I found it disgusting.

I don't know either of them so can't actually say but I absolutely can't stand how the press treat people like MM.

Sunsea21 · 24/10/2022 17:49

Jamie Theakston. I was in the 1st class airport lounge at Heathrow. He got up and left his table so the staff cleared away his half finished drink. When he came back and saw it was gone he started shouting at the staff. All drinks were free so he had not actually been put out in anyway. I think he was in a mood as their was a real celebrity there that all the staff were giving lots of attention to and no one was fawning round him
