How is it hypocrisy if I don't know anything, and care even less about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard?
Also, at least Peter Andre has a modicum of musical talent, whereas Katie became infamous for getting her tits out and behaving outrageously.

@PixieAndProsecco what? For starters I knew who Peter Andre was, he had a massive hit and was everywhere for a time. Katie Price was just on page 3, as far as I was aware and didn’t register in my world at all. I would have said PA was the famous one. I don’t think you can compare the two to Jonny and Amber, that’s a whole different level.

Pete was the lesser known, but known, who put her down, was verbally and emotionally abusive etc and she eventually retorted back.

Pete is the demon and it's poor Katie, despite everything she has done since.

Flip the genders on their heads and you have Johnny and Amber.

Amber is the lesser known who is verbally and emotionally abusive, pushing their partner until they retaliate.

Yet in this example Johnny was the devil because he was a man, despite him winning his court case and proving himself.

Katie is not a victim yet gets support. Johnny is a victim and gets hated.

Perhaps she didn't know it was her birthday? After all, she is on film as having to google the dates of the youngest two.

Celebrity Big Brother or whatever was always a sign that your career was flagging or dead. Max Clifford said that nobody with a career should ever go on it. He actually said that he didn't know who had told Jade Goody to go on CBB. Say what you will about her, at that point her career was going well - lots of lucrative offers, perfume line etc etc - and she had nothing to gain and everything to lose. As we all now know.

A couple of people did well out of that sort of thing, like Myleene Klass in the jungle, but they tended to be at the very early stage of reality TV, before it was quite as tasteless as it eventually (although I'm A Celebrity was especially lowbrow from the start). Like Klass, they also tended to have an actual talent and plans for projects, so it was more like advertising for something upcoming than "remember me, I'm still here, someone give me work!"

I think Paul from S Club 7 said he tried to get some "celebrity" reality TV gigs but they said he wasn't famous enough (!!!). Shame they didn't say that to Jo O'Meara.

I watched this kind of shite when they were on I'm a celeb (I was young!) and I remember everyone being completely shocked KP would go on it because she was much more successful and current than anyone else on it. She certainly wasn't 'made' by the show, she already had a massive fan base.
Despite all of the above, I think she's bloody appalling am definitely no longer a fan of hers.

I can't remember what KP was doing when she went on I'm a celeb but nearly everyone who goes on it, has usually passed the (first or only) peak of their career, because in reality anyone at the height of their fame would probably not have 3 weeks spare in their schedule or would earn better money from other gigs.
You don't get many A listers on it because they are busy with their current career. However lots of people have had better offers and more opportunities after being on it

Nope- their success in reality TV was due to them as a COUPLE. Katie had solo reality tv projects before with very limited success. The reality TV show with both of them and the OK magazine shoots with both of them (and the kids) is what propelled them into fairly major fame. She benefitted from him just as much as he did from her. Its just not accurate to suggest otherwise because if her solo projects were THAT lucrative, she wouldnt have marketed their relationship so heavily. Her book sales also took off when they were about them as a couple.
