To feel like fucking crying?

My partner has a stomach bug. He caught it off the kids and he's had a couple of accidents.

Came in from work today to find the house stinking of shit. It's everywhere - our bed is going to have to be replaced, the bedroom carpet is ruined, it's on the stair carpet and the hall carpet downstairs.

I've just spent 45mins scrubbing the (tiny) bathroom because there was shit literally everywhere.

Can't really afford to buy a new bed but the mattress is heavily stained, now on both sides. It's going to cost hundreds for that and the carpets. Genuinely feel like crying my eyes out. Probably not helped by the fact he's doing nothing to help (like putting his soiled clothes in the shower rather than just leaving them). I've got piles of washing to do still too.

Aibu to be utterly fed up?

OP posts:

biscuitbreak it is because of the poo troll(s) that frequent these boards, rather than being childish!

ClaudineClare · 06/04/2022 17:10

Pumperthepumper I am so sorry I fucked up when I searched.Blush

Perhaps OP is genuine then, as would be hard to fake a photo like that!

biscuitbreak · 06/04/2022 17:06

So sorry you're having to deal with this OP. I don't doubt you either, people on MN are weirdly suspicious and childish about anything relating to poo.

I think the worst thing here is that he's expecting you to deal with it which isn't just disgusting but also puts you at incredibly high risk of being the next one to be struck down with it. But if he's too ill to function he's not going to be able to manage to clean up himself is he? Sounds like a truly horrendous situation.

monicagellerbing · 06/04/2022 17:06

What the fuck. How has he managed to shit all over the house that's ridiculous I'm raging on your behalf op. I'd have taken the kids and left him to clean it himself why the fuck should you clean his shit off the carpet! Can he not run to the toilet has he literally just shit where he stood? Ltb hes fucking disgusting

AnxiousHeffalump · 06/04/2022 17:06

The OP hasn’t been back for a while. Maybe she’s scrubbing a grown man’s shit, or maybe she’s slipped on it…

BashfulClam · 06/04/2022 17:03

I had this on Friday and my loo is also downstairs. I lay in the hall between vomiting and shitting just I got it nowhere except for the loo. At one point it was flying from both ends and I sat on the loo with a bucket. I had the runs from Friday until Sunday night and at no point did I shit anywhere apart from the loo. Then DH had it with the same behaviour as me, a friend man can surely ensure he’s not shutting the bed!

@ClaudineClare

I am still suspicious. The poster who asked for a thumbs up photo which OP obliged them with has either namechanged today or joined MN today.

I would be very wary of sharing stories about experiences with diarrhoea...

Exactly.

I'm always surprised how much people are willing to share on these threads.

No, that was me and I’ve been here for ages, you can AS me to check.

I still think this thread is bollocks though, and I’d agree people should be wary of sharing stories.

Whattodoniw · 06/04/2022 16:59

As an emetephobe, this is my worst fucking nightmare.

Fuck posting on mumnset about it with subsequent pictures of bodily fluids to back it up ( no pun intended ) .... I'd be ofsky, packing an overnight night bag and legging it off to stay for a few days elsewhere.

No joke.

Thank fuck I can't access any pictures.

This sounds ( if real) fucking horrendous.

nonsensicalmess · 06/04/2022 16:59

Lol at those who don’t believe it’s “normal” to poo this much - aren’t you the lucky ones to never have experienced this. The one time I have I genuinely thought I was dying, it didn’t let up from either end for 48 hours despite consuming nothing but water.

What I didn’t do however was move from the bathroom - I didn’t dare! In between “episodes” I just cleaned and bleached the best I could.

angieloumc · 06/04/2022 16:57

That's absolutely vile OP. Once I could understand if he didn't get up from bed quickly enough but on the floor right up the under bed storage 😳I just don't understand how a grown adult can't clean their mess up even if they're ill. I expect many of us have had norovirus at one time or another and have managed to clean up. As for leaving his soiled clothes, that's another level of disgusting. I really feel for you.

ThisisMax · 06/04/2022 16:56

@AuntieJoycesPurpleSlacks

I don't mean to be flippant, but is your partner a Jack Russell? That's the only scenario I can picture where this would be reasonable (albeit still VERY annoying and would feel like crying).
I love this thread and I love this comment the best. Grin Sorry OP. It sounds mental and I can never unsee the pictures.

hmm to be fair to the op she only put the photo up because a few ppl were accusing her of being a troll though ,

20viona · 06/04/2022 16:48

Oh no that is just awful.

OvOvO · 06/04/2022 16:46

Worse thread I've ever seen on here and am astonished that it's not yet been zapped - real or not - that photo is fucking gross Envy

oakleaffy · 06/04/2022 16:45

@SpaghettiNotCourgetti

I hope you're at least slipping a binbag between him and the sofa.

I would also be raging at my DH for that, ill or not. Why couldn't he have waddled to the bathroom clutching the already soiled duvet or bedding to his arse? ANYTHING rather than spraying it everywhere.

Unless there's going to be some massive revelation and he actually has cholera, I'm struggling to see excuses for shitting all over your house and then leaving it all for your wife to clear up.

Cholera would be the only excuse in these circumstances. But it looks more like a case of “ Lazy ass” on the husband’s part

Making your wife clean up?
Shameful on his part and disgusting ditto.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/04/2022 16:41

I’ve had this twice and it’s horrendous— first time I fainted and was trapped in bathroom — crapped all over floor as fell off loo when I fainted. He needs to stay close to bathroom OP and get him some adult pads and stay dressed!! Not lounge around in boxers etc. I totally feel for you both .

LaurieFairyCake · 06/04/2022 16:41

Then you sit in the bath ?

You don't shit all over the house HmmHmmHmm

It's literally liquid, it will go down the plug hole

I had this as a kid, mum left me in the empty bath with a hot water bottle

Do not shame The Jack Russell. It is a very fine dog. It's more of a great humping big dog that would shite everywhere. Something like a Great Dane I would say. They have no manners unlike The Jack which is polite and only has a small chute
WomblingWilma · 06/04/2022 16:35

Good god! How old is your DH OP? Is he particularly elderly and infirm or have a disability affecting his mobility that you haven’t mentioned? That’s the only reason I could I imagine for someone shitting all over the house in these circs. Why on earth did he go upstairs if he was having severe shit explosions and the loo is downstairs?

At least he could have had an old towel to hand and to not even have made a half hearted attempt to clean up Hmm. Do you normally have to clean up after him day to day?

There’s no way I’d forget this and any sex life (and relationship) would be over after that! Any normal person wouldn’t want their partner to pick it up which you can hardly avoid now you’re scrubbing shit and dealing with shitty clothes. Absolutely disgusting!

SummerHouse · 06/04/2022 16:35

This is horrible for you OP.

While I don't doubt you at all, and I totally understand a person can lose control, I feel there may be an element of your partner thinking "there's nothing I can do" where other adults would somehow manage better.

In the same way children vomit everywhere. They just prioritise throwing up rather than making it to the bathroom or at least minimising the fall out.

I hope he is doing ok.

Flowers for you, you poor thing.
