To feel like fucking crying?

My partner has a stomach bug. He caught it off the kids and he's had a couple of accidents.

Came in from work today to find the house stinking of shit. It's everywhere - our bed is going to have to be replaced, the bedroom carpet is ruined, it's on the stair carpet and the hall carpet downstairs.

I've just spent 45mins scrubbing the (tiny) bathroom because there was shit literally everywhere.

Can't really afford to buy a new bed but the mattress is heavily stained, now on both sides. It's going to cost hundreds for that and the carpets. Genuinely feel like crying my eyes out. Probably not helped by the fact he's doing nothing to help (like putting his soiled clothes in the shower rather than just leaving them). I've got piles of washing to do still too.

Aibu to be utterly fed up?

also if he is ill make sure he is hydrated. This can screw you over seriously if you aren't getting hydration in.

Burgoo · 06/04/2022 19:52

@jk987

Its not all about sex.

Burgoo · 06/04/2022 19:51

Some viral infections are horrific. I've worked in health for decades. If you have one of the more explosive types there is next to no warning, shit just explodes everywhere.

C-Diff is ghastly. I've seen people spray their bed, the walls, the floors and everywhere else you can imagine when they have it. If its something similar, simply having clothes on doesn't help because it leaks everywhere - like running water.

Ideally he needs to stay in the bathroom! Hell, give him a blanket and let him camp out in the shower/bath for a few days! If he isn't feeling it coming its horrendous and I'd feel terrible for him.

Is he feeling it coming? Is he in pain or just it just happen? He should really get looked at, this isn't normal and most adults would be mortified and humiliated enough not to do that intentionally. It could potentially more sinister so he needs to get looked at. Either way its not normal to have THAT much shit coming out of you unless something is seriously wrong!

I feel for him. I find it concerning how so many people lack compassion and concern here. Men aren't inherently unpleasant and to jump to the conclusion he is doing it willingly is rather nasty.

Jk987 · 06/04/2022 19:49

I don't care how ill he is, he should be cleaning up after himself.
He should definitely not be incapable of getting to the bathroom multiple times. Does he expect to have a sex life with him after this?

Arewethebadguys · 06/04/2022 19:44

@Whiskersonkittens21

Either this isn't real or he is deliberately shitting around the house.
Omg I may have just shit myself laughing at this Grin

Jedsnewstar · 06/04/2022 19:41

What the actual. That seriously doesn’t look like an accident. It would be caught in the trousers/pjs and run down the leg, it genuinely looks like he has actively done a dump on the floor.
There is no way in hell I’d clean up my DHs shit like this, you are either a saint or a push over.

Are you absolutely certain he hasn’t done this in a weird way some grown adults don’t flush the loo on purpose. Is there a possibility he is getting a kick out of knowing you have to clean his crap?

It’s just so much. My DH would be mortified.

Yants · 06/04/2022 19:39

I've had a couple of horrendous bouts of Norovirus in the past, each time I couldn't eat anything at all for at least 4 days, even just sipping a teaspoon of water would result in about half a pint immediately coming out the other end, God knows where it was all coming from!

I ruined a few pj bottoms but still managed to avoid making that much mess.

EarringsandLipstick · 06/04/2022 19:39

I can't quite believe that I a) am reading this thread, all posts b) am replying c) viewed those photos.

I can absolutely imagine a stomach bug so severe that one would be caught unawares and have an accident. One single one.

Thereafter you come up with some - any - plan. It might be undignified, uncomfortable and impractical but normal human instinct is not to continue merrily defecating everywhere.

Also, unless he's dead or unconscious, I would be discussing it with him and I would be out of that house, even if I had to stay in a hotel.

You have to address this with him.

@mamamia1234

Is he potty trained? X
that was really rude, this woman is clearly struggling !
Springhassprung86 · 06/04/2022 19:34

This is awful. OP your husband is a grown man, of I was shorting like this I wouldn’t leave the toilet: he’s absolutely foul and there’s no excuse I don’t care how sick he claims to be, did your kids make this much mess?! I’m move in with my parents and leave him to sort his own shit out (literally!!) and not coke back u til he’s done it.

mamamia1234 · 06/04/2022 19:33

Is he potty trained? X

tirednewmumm · 06/04/2022 19:32

@Pumperthepumper

It's not working for me - did you click on it?
Worked fine for me Confused sorry you're dealing with this op it does seem anormal I think he needs to stay downstairs near bathroom even if he would rather go to bed
EdgyNeonAnt · 06/04/2022 19:31

That's awful. Thankfully I managed to coordinate the toilet and a bucket with noro 🤢 But I always figured if I was caught in a bind and it was one or the other, I'd rather clean up sick than poo!
If I genuinely couldn't control my bowels, I'd stay either in or very close to the shower. Vile, but if it's that bad I'd rather clean and sterilise that than carpets, bed, rugs and so on...
I would struggle to look at my partner in the same way if he did this, I don't think I could be sympathetic through the blind rage!

BeautifulDragon · 06/04/2022 19:29

This is disgusting - OP is as weird as her DH.

I think the people clicking on links to view these pictures are pretty weird too! I mean seriously, just why Envy

SilverBirchWithout · 06/04/2022 19:27

Who on earth faced with crap all over their house would stop cleaning in order to post a thread on Mumsnet? And then post pictures of a shit encrusted carpets with a thumbs up sign.
This is disgusting - OP is as weird as her DH.

christmassausages · 06/04/2022 19:23

Do you have home contents insurance? You can claim for the mattress on that.

CockSpadget · 06/04/2022 19:14

Ffs why are you giving this lass a hard time?!? Don't you think she's got enough on today, without dealing with the Mumsnet twat brigade.
It's pretty clear what he's done OP. He's had an accident in bed, he's then stood up and took his pants off at the side of the bed and the contents have soaked through the carpet (hence the big circular mark where they've landed), he's then tried to make it downstairs with no pants on while continuing to have accidents En route.
It's absolutely normal to have explosive shits to that extent with noro, but unfortunately your H hasn't thought through his actions at the time. I feel sorry for you, and he would be in the serious doghouse if it was my DP, ill or not.

NETSRIK · 06/04/2022 19:13

When a grown adult in my house shits all over the bed and floor the first thing I do is post on mumsnet and then take a pic.

People are seriously fucking weird.

GingerFigs · 06/04/2022 19:10

Poor you OP. I'd want to cry too. Only coming to the tread now so missed all the suspicions that you were a poo troll!!

I hope when he is better he bloody well makes it up to you!!! I would be equal parts fuming and devastated at the mess.

Hugs....but from a distance in case you've caught it too!!!

sophienelisse · 06/04/2022 19:09

I'd of rubbed his face in it and sent him into the garden.

Sorry op you have had a terrible day. I thought I'd had a bad day till I read this.

ThanksWineCakeGin

Name99 · 06/04/2022 19:04

Yes, now he's feeling better he can start cleaning can't he.
What was he actually doing when you started cleaning, in the bathroom unable to get off the toilet or just laid there?

SpaghettiNotCourgetti · 06/04/2022 18:55

He honestly seems a lot better! No diarrhea since this morning afaik. He looks better too.

Good. He can clean up with the Rug Doctor, then, can't he?

WeirdlyKind · 06/04/2022 18:52

@Herani

Oh god, the very thought that a rented carpet cleaner is being used for something infectious like this, let alone the fecal bacteria.

I do sympathise OP, but someone with diarrhoea that bad should know to camp out in the bathroom after one, at most two, accidents.

It's not rented, it belongs to my sister and will be well cleaned before I send it back. Also have anti bac stuff that I can use in it.
