Ok I know this is pathetic, but when a friend doesn’t like your posts but likes others

I know it’s needy and pathetic, but normally if someone didn’t like my stuff I’d think of maybe they’ve not been on fb etc

But one of my friends hasn't liked any of my stuff for ages
Yet I know she still must like me because she’s always messaging me on what’s app and asking to get together etc

My posts are only very tame like the kids pumpkins etc
And a couple of half term activities

Yet I see her liking and commenting on other people’s posts basically the same sort of posts as mine and I think why do you ignore mine ?
Esp when she comments and likes people’s things of people I know she’s actually not that keen on in real life

I guess there’s a chance she might not see mine
I don’t know how the algorithm works

But I’ve now stopped liking hers too

@Gncq

Sorry, as a person who doesn't do Facebook for good reason, your post really reads to me as written by someone mentally damaged by social media.
This!
Lardlizard · 04/11/2020 14:13

Ive already said I’m done with it, so keep wasting time if you want to posting asking questions I’ve already answered

That may be a bit blunt, I don’t mean to sound rude

LazyName · 04/11/2020 12:59

Facebook is so petty I deleted mine because of people like you OP, with their weird obsessions over who has liked posts or who is talking to who or out and about with whoever. That and the fact that putting pictures of my/my child’s life over the internet seems like a weird thing to do anyway, so I no longer do it.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 04/11/2020 12:33

It's not nastu. It's truth. Op is moaning about people being 2 faced while dsoind the same shit herself. That's pathetic

switswooo · 04/11/2020 12:24

@GrapevineFires

I have less than 200 people on FB. I only see posts from about 20 or so (all people I have stalked/ had a nose on their FB in the past 6 months).

I was doing a little 'I wonder what happened to X' the other day and when I clicked on her page there was 6 months worth of posts I'd never seen.

It's quite clear that she's not seeing your posts, but you genuinely are being pathetic and two faced (happy to chat via Whatsapp but unfollow her without discussing it).

Nasty
itsgettingcoldoutside · 04/11/2020 12:12

I know what you mean. I am starting to hate Facebook. My photos only ever get three likes. The same photo on Instagram got 60 likes!!

Meowza74 · 04/11/2020 12:01

Could she have muted you?

I've muted a friend who's posts bore the crap out of me and she posts so much it clogs up my feed. Constant pics of what her kids are wearing/eating.

stackemhigh · 04/11/2020 12:00

@Lsquiggles I think voicing an opinion with a Blush emoji is immature. How old are you and why are you blushing?!

Lsquiggles · 04/11/2020 11:57

Just read your other replies, how old are you OP? You sound very immature, she doesn't have an obligation to like your stuff because you're friends or because you like hers

Lsquiggles · 04/11/2020 11:53

Maybe she's muted your posts cuz you post too much Blush

ClementineWoolysocks · 04/11/2020 11:50

@Lardlizard

I totally agree it is pathetic
With great big shiny bells on.
cwtchesandprosecco · 04/11/2020 11:43

I have something similar. I’m in a close friendship group of three. One of my friends always comments on the others Instagram photos, along the lines of ‘beautiful’ or ‘you look amazing’ but rarely comments on mine.

It feels incredibly petty but it does sting a little.

Whatyoucanandcantdo · 04/11/2020 09:45

I'd find it a bit hurtful too

AldiIsla · 04/11/2020 09:44

She's probably got you unfollowed.

Hickorydickoryspock · 04/11/2020 09:42

how many friends does she have on Facebook? And how often do you post? If she has a lot more friends than you you will see her posts often whereas yours may be swamped out of her tomeline by other peoples... it also depends on the time you post and how often you like her posts or interact with her posts.. when you interact with a post the algorithm thinks you want to see more of that so it will show you that persons posts first... so if you don't like her posts either then the algorithm will not be showing her your posts.. its a circle. In general if you want someone to notice your posts you need to go and like and comment under their posts as it will give your posts higher visibility to them. I know this from marketing products on Facebook.

Riv12345 · 04/11/2020 09:32

Op I would be exactly the same

I'm too sensitive to be on fb or social media

But I have a lot of true lovely friends and colleagues

I hear a lot about what you're saying I'm just glad I choose not to put myself in that situation

Redolent · 04/11/2020 01:28

Get off Facebook.

Thedogscollar · 04/11/2020 01:25

There are some utter bollocks on social media but this really does take the biscuit.

MLMbotsgoaway · 04/11/2020 00:46

@ilovesooty I hate saying this but a two second AS shows that the Op has a very strange attitude towards other women.

ilovesooty · 04/11/2020 00:40

One of my friends hardly ever likes my posts. Given that she's my support bubble and sees or speaks to me every day it's never occurred to me to bother about it.

I think this is just weird and the OP has a strange distorted view of people.

saraclara · 04/11/2020 00:32

@LoisWilkersonslastnerve

I don't really interact with my close friends on fb because I don't feel I need to, we talk on a regular basis, they know I 'like' them whereas people I only have contact on fb get a bit more attention as I can't do it in real life if that makes sense?
I'm the same. I barely notice the posts of people that I see regularly. I spend most of my time responding to the friends and relatives who live far away, as it keeps us in touch wot each others' lives.

I already know what my local friends, or those I message a lot, are up to. I don't need to read or like their statuses.

stackemhigh · 04/11/2020 00:19

You were right to unfollow and I bet she has seen your updates.

Now you can continue seeing her (or not) based on your interactions away from FB.

Lardlizard · 04/11/2020 00:18

Linda trust me I don’t do that
