I’ve been furloughed so I’m watching far too much Netflix.

Anyway, I’ve just binged Life on Mars and I’m now on Ashes to Ashes, and can I just say that Gene Hunt makes me swoon. To quote a mumsnet classic, he gives me the fanny gallops!

I don’t even care if I’m being unreasonable Grin

Can you imagine the Relationships threads from Mrs Hunt?

I reckon the Gene Genie was a pussy cat at home and whilst you might not have have caught with a pinny on doing the washing up he probably had a shed he retreated to frequently when Mrs Hunt was one one'! 😂

That's it Pyong. Couldn't remember the name.

GrandTheftWalrus · 01/05/2020 00:46

I love them both. Cried buckets at the ending of A2A.

I love gene hunt as well. Even though hes old enough to be my dad.

The actor who played Ray replied to a tweet of mine. I was starstruck lol

MidnightBlue28 · 01/05/2020 00:45

I also loved Phil with Ant Anstead when they did ‘For The Love Of Cars’

PyongyangKipperbang · 01/05/2020 00:45

I was thinking about Making Out! Duhhh!

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 01/05/2020 00:29

@blubberball
Life on Mars was a brilliant series
Have you watched Ashes to Ashes too?
If not doooo it otherwise you've only half watched Life on Mars Smile

AugustRose · 01/05/2020 00:26

Just rewatching LoM and then we'll start on A2A. They are both brilliant, DH watches them for the cars, and maybe Keeley Hawes. I completely agree about Gene Hunt, he's everything we are supposed to dislike but you just can't - I definitely had a crush on him when it was first aired.

Although Chris is just too sweet and dizzy, you've got to love him.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 01/05/2020 00:24

Pyong different thing. I think the Margi Clark thing was a film or on C4.

blubberball · 01/05/2020 00:14

PyongyangKipperbang · 01/05/2020 00:13

Wasnt clocking off about an electrical component factory, with Margi Clarke in it? Or am I thinking about something else?

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 01/05/2020 00:11

Clothes factory. Mack. Swoon.

Thighdentitycrisis · 01/05/2020 00:09

Clocking Off ! Was that about the carpet factory?

Drama channel are showing two episodes of A2A every Saturday night
We are up to S2 E3 & E4 this week

All the episodes are up on BBC IPlayer if you can't wait a week between your fix Smile

Isitweekendyet · 30/04/2020 23:36

"Have you heard? Oxtail's back on. Must have read my letter"

"Wasn't really a letter, was it, Guv? Oxtail. Now."

Absolutely no words for how much I adored both series. But Gene and Alex had a special place in my heart - the final episode never fails to GUT me.

even if I suspect those polyester shirts probably smelt a bit

Probably a mix of brut, sweat & cheap Fags

They're on my Netflix list but I watched them avidly the first time around,

Definitely not my usual type at all... But I definitely would!

Must admit at one point I had a fwb who was like a Scots version

Fantastic as a fwb but no good for dating!

I'm smack bang middle of Gen x may have something to do with it as I grew up watching 70's cop shows

@pandarific wish I could watch true detective! I've watched that scene with Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Monaghan oof

But not been able to access the actual series

And yes season finale was heartbreaking Sad

New series? Ohhhhhh yes please! Glad to see writer wants liz white back she's fabulous

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 30/04/2020 22:33

Gene Hunt can do my 'oops anytime Grin
He was sex on legs.

And the last episode of Ashes to Ashes had me roaring too. It was so sad.

elp30 · 30/04/2020 22:31

I have found my people!

I was debating what to watch tonight.

It's time to "fire up the Quattro!"

DressesWithPocketsRockMyWorld · 30/04/2020 22:28

I dont want to see him changing nappies that would be disgusting!!!

I just want him to shag my brains out.

sweetheartyparty · 30/04/2020 22:25

I loved both but my favourite was the last series of A2A. The little clues peppered throughout to what was happening to them all was just amazing. The last episode was the best TV episode I think I've ever watched

DoctorTwo · 30/04/2020 22:23

@DressesWithPocketsRockMyWorld that line's from Monkfish. :o

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 30/04/2020 22:15

Cannot WAIT for the new series
Will be interesting to see how it ties in
oh and the Gene Genie of course Grin
