AIBU to ask about the creepiest thing that has ever happened to you that you cannot explain?

I realise threads like these have probably been done to death but I am super bored and struggling to find anything to watch/read.

By “we walked around the house” I mean the outside of the house and garden

I bought a flat in Edinburgh when I was in my mid 20's (wish I still had it, things changed for me financially and I couldn't hold onto it sadly)
When I was committed to buying it, I went for final 'curtain measuring' viewing and met the older couple selling it for the first time.
The woman said to me: 'you remind me of that girl on the news today, you look just like her'. 'What girl I said'? 'The one they found under the floorboards', she said. Indeed there was a breaking news story that day about some poor girl whose remains had been found.
I don't know if it was creepy, or the woman was just being nasty though as I didn't think I looked like the girl at all.

Not my story but a dear friend of mine. Around 20 years ago his cousin was tragically killed in a car accident with 3 others in the vehicle.

He had a glass pendant lampshade on the landing of his house which had been there years. His family were very close to his cousins family and the night she died the very thick heavy glass pendant smashed into smithereens after many years of hanging there.

A couple of hours later they got the call and the time the pendant smashed was around the time the crash happened Shock.

I do believe that some things are just so inexplicable and strange....

When I was younger around 10 we moved to France. The house my parents bought was in the countryside and quite old with a few barns on the grounds but there was no bad feeling there, it was such a happy house. One summers day as we were all having dinner we saw a woman walk past the front window which was quite large and head towards the front doors. She had a big hat quite similar to the hats the women would wear in the Victorian times. We all saw her, my dad got up to answer the door and there was no one there. We walked around the house wondering where she had gone but couldn’t find her. It wasn’t the sun or a shadow. It was very odd and Nothing else ever happened there.

I was 10, (now 41) was staying overnight at my aunt & uncles, only the 3 of us in the house, very cold winter so all windows closed, aunt & uncle snoring away in the next room

Middle of the night the door to the room i was in started rattling hard & fast for about 30 seconds, then all went quiet, it was the former bedroom of my cousin who had died a couple of years before

My son was born sick. He is named after my dad who passed away years ago. They never met. DS was in ICU over Halloween so a singer came in to cheer up the parents. We were in isolation so the singer stood at the door & asked for any requests. I said to pick himself. He started to sing my dads party piece. The song is from a Disney movie from the 60s Shock
I cried. It was so strange but so lovely.

Chiilingham Castle years ago. Booked after seeing it World's Most Haunted. Earthquake just after my ex and I decided to book.
Then!
We stayed there. Couple in room above us who arrived at the same time left in the middle of the night.
Out of nowhere because we couldn’t open windows, flies everywhere .
We sprayed and got fly papers. Still on day 2 loads of flies.
Night 3 ,sitting in the lounge area of the apartment doing a jigsaw.
Ex decided to go for a bath. I’m cracking on with the jigsaw when I feel someone leaning over my shoulder.
‘There’s a piece missing ‘ I say.
‘What?’ my ex shouts from the bathroom.
I ‘feel’ the someone’ leaning closer and it feels as if their head it next to mine.
I sat ridged until ex came back.
Went into The Kings Room and the huge candelabra started to swing.
It’s a beautiful place and the grounds are lovely and I want to go again to see if I imagined it.

When i was pregnant every morning i would wake up with a song in my head about miscarriage and i could never shake it off even when i was listening to another song. that one song was always in my head and i did go on to miscarry. That was pretty strange.

singtanana · 28/04/2020 20:12
