Bare bum in dressing room , AIBU.

I take DS to swimming. I got the times wrong turned up for the wrong lesson. I decide to go back to the changing room to wait. I find it hard to breath in the pool area, 30 minutes is ok, an hour and I can feel my asthma begin to act up.

There is a dad there getting his daughters dressed (fine) he was in the pool and he's down to his underwear.

Another dad arrives with his son, him and my DS are in the same lesson.

Anyways dad of daughters decides to get dressed... he drops his pants and is stark naked in front of his daughters. He is also by the door so if another parent was coming in their child would have walked into his penis! And it wasn't less than a minute because he was drying himself as well 🤢...

There are cubicles. He could have used a towel as well.

Why would and adult choose to get naked in a dressing room at a swim lesson for children with strangers around.

AIBU to find it bizarre?

His bum was also hairy and unattractive 🤢.

@pinkboa GIVE IT UP....you are embarrassing yourself!! You sound like a fucking weirdo to be honest!!

Greeni · 27/11/2019 22:17

That dad and his son are always in there... as I have also said. His son and mine do the same class. But it's still empty...

The dad and son are always in there but it’s still empty.
Are they ghosts? Pictures on the wall? In your imagination?

You’re batshit and self entitled thinking you can use the men’s because you want to. Hope he reported you to the school.

He wasn't drying... that makes even more odd!

It’s a shame the other mumsnet user posing as the man (who’s bare hairy arse is the one the OP is complaining about) had their thread taken down ...it was far more amusing.

user1480880826 · 27/11/2019 21:56

@pinkboa I’m not projecting anything. You criticised his bum for being hairy. You put a f***g vomiting emoji next to the comment. You can’t pretend it was anything other than a complaint about the appearance of a mans bum.

I can’t believe you’re still trying to defend yourself. 26 pages and counting of people app agreeing that you a barking mad for complaining about a man getting changed in a men’s changing room where there were no cubicles. 26 pages of you being told how inappropriate it was for you to go into the men’s changing room. Yet here you are still trying to convince us that we’re all wrong.

You saw a naked man in a space designated for naked men and you are STILL appalled by it.

TulipCat · 27/11/2019 21:55

Well I have had a jolly old day checking in on this thread. Loving the new addition that the OP would also happily use the gents loo if there's a queue at the ladies. I have visions of you climbing up onto the urinals if the cubicles are taken when you get in there in your batshit determination not to queue! 😂 😂 😂

FrangipaniBlue · 27/11/2019 21:53

Op do you care that you probably made the man getting changed feel v uncomfortable?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say no she couldn't give a fig. OP was warm and dry and comfortable and that's what matters right?

rowrowrowyaboat · 27/11/2019 21:46

Op do you care that you probably made the man getting changed feel v uncomfortable? Why did you not leave the changing room at the point it was obvious he was going to undress?

Schuyler · 27/11/2019 21:45

@pinkboa

We may not agree and I think you’re bonkers but I think I like you. You’re hilarious. Grin what a thread!

makingmammaries · 27/11/2019 21:44

Unfortunately my asthma is improved by humidity. How do I get to see a bare hairy arse?

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 27/11/2019 21:44

Iv just came back and I’m very surprised the Op is still here 😂

EarringsandLipstick · 27/11/2019 21:42

OP I've read the entire thread & I've finally reported you. I did assume it was made up, and your 'facts' make no sense whatsoever (eg swimming lessons for 2 year old where parents aren't in the water but there's a 1:2 ratio. Rubbish)

But either way your replies, IMO, are pure goady & pretty nasty & hence my report

pinkboa · 27/11/2019 21:39

@blackfred

I said if MY comments were scathing. Because from what I wrote I was lamenting how great and convenient I found the family rooms there.

Lived there... children born there.... I didn't go swimming except the beach. I went in my gear... swam... dried and went home. I wasn't that far away.
You are clearly offended because you didn't take the time to read... but it's ok. We all skim read and misconstrue.

@zaffa

He wasn't drying... that makes even more odd!

@spanglydangly
I said what I said. Have I been arguing.. or did I accept literally after about 5 replies in...man you are reaching now.

I mean I might be batshit crazy, but think about it I'm not the one on some random thread attempting to prove a point... repeatedly despite someone saying shaadup! It takes one crazy person to identify another.

@spacepyramid

That dad and his son are always in there... as I have also said. His son and mine do the same class. But it's still empty...

OP posts:
blackfred · 27/11/2019 21:23

I am confused. I asked if you were Australian and you said "I am indeed" and then asked why I was scathing. I certainly wasn't scathing in my comment about you being Australian.

Then answering someone else you said you didn't grow up in Australia but had been to the beach in Perth.

There is no way you could of spent anytime here and not known what changeroom or Toilet you used. We are not some bac kwood country.

notthemum · 27/11/2019 21:20

It doesn't matter if it was a school or leisure centre .
YOU WERE IN THE MENS !
The poor sod probably went home and told his dp that there was a fucking woman in the men's changing area. Just sitting there.
If I was the do I would have been straight on the phone asking them to out up a notice telling people to stick to their allocated changing areas.
YABVVFU

rowrowrowyaboat · 27/11/2019 21:18

So will you be using the mens changing room again op? Or do you still feel entitled to use it?

spanglydangly · 27/11/2019 21:18

Did you read all of? Did I criticise his bottom or did I just say it was hairy..

With a sick emoji! I'd say that was criticism.

spanglydangly · 27/11/2019 21:16

I used the men's because it is empty... plain and simple. I do not care what other mothers do... I do what is convenient for me and like I said I thought you went with the sex of the child. Regardless of that... a lot of women are prudish and in truth would never go into a men's changing room even if it was a class specifically for toddlers and it was empty I.DO.NOT.CARE😐 don't know how many times I need to reiterate that...

So you do it because it's empty (but it wasn't ) you do it because you're not prudish (but you are]) you don't care what other mothers do, but come on mumsnet are argue with loads of other mothers about what t they do, so you do care,

You are batshit crazy!

selfhelpneeded · 27/11/2019 21:11

Did you criticise his bum?

You said in your op it was unattractive and put sick emoji!

zaffa · 27/11/2019 21:10

But @pinkboa he needed his towel to dry his hairy arse with! And the rest of him, how can he use the towel to both dry himself and protect his modesty? Must he carry more than one towel on the off chance a woman will be lurking in his changing room?

Do you carry more than one towel for this purpose? Do you often encounter men lurking in the ladies?

spacepyramid · 27/11/2019 21:07

If you did care to read you would have also noted I was not the only parent in the room, there was another father and his son getting dressed for the class.

We did note that, you pointed out that they were in in the men's changing room which you were only using because it is always empty

Except it's not always empty is it? Today there were at least four people in there: a man and his daughters who were entitled to and an apparently voyeuristic busybody who shouldn't have been because they are female, possibly with other parts of their body being hairy, though judging by the many posts it clearly doesn't cause you a problem when typing.

pinkboa · 27/11/2019 21:06

@zaffa

A towel?

@mathanxiety

Did you read all of? Did I criticise his bottom or did I just say it was hairy... I don't seem to have gone into any details because I can't... it was just a bum that happened to have hair on it.

@MrsHaversham

No thanks... I'd miss all the hairy bums!

@Mjlp

Fair point.

OP posts:
my2bundles · 27/11/2019 21:05

When someone reports you, which they will if u carry on, you will care.

pinkboa · 27/11/2019 21:03

... more pile ons from who who have completely missed everything I have said... brilliant...

I also think a lot of you fail to realise not every woman is raised in a "British" sense. I would never not think of going into a men's room if I needed it... never. They're always empty and I don't see why I should stand in a long queue just to do a wee. Nope, not I.

@user1480880826

Don't project your insecurities here... I said his bum was hairy... it was hairy! 😐 if it wasn't I would have said his bum... but then I suppose even that would have caused issues.

Not liking hairy armpits and saying someone has hairy armpits are two completely different things...even if it might look 🤢. You it's funny you mention that because I never shaved my legs or armpits until I was about 22...but different societies see.

@Spartak

Because he was getting his children dressed... why would I be watching a man dressing his children? In fact why would I be watching him?

@spanglydangly

Like a dog with a bone you just won't let go. Hope it doesn't choke you...

@Biancadelrioisback

Everyone has said it is the norm here even if it was my husband and daughter. I don't agree with it, but it is the done thing and that is that. If you did care to read you would have also noted I was not the only parent in the room, there was another father and his son getting dressed for the class.

And while it's the norm for people to be naked in changing rooms with or without children. It is not where I am from and not something I would do myself ( I don't have body issues... in fact after two kids I've learnt to love it in new ways) So while I do find it strange, I accept it's the done thing. I'll have to reconcile my own feelings about it.... but it is what it is. My DH is English and goes swimming so is more familiar with the norms around it.

OP posts:
Mjlp · 27/11/2019 21:02

If you go into the male changing room I think you have to accept you may see a male bare bum!
