I think they're grim and wouldn't allow them, but we don't allow barbie and that sort of doll anyway, and they've never shown any interest in them anyway.

But I'm not sure I'd give a doll to a 3yo that had feet that came off - wouldn't that be a choking hazard?

Once bought one of these for my best friend's little girl. It was a bit like a girls world and had hair to brush and make up to smear.

I sat at her birthday party and watched her open it - and she was delighted. And then all of a sudden it occured to me that I had bought my goddaughter a hooker!

I don't really have a problem with them but wished I hadn't bought it at the time.

PS have been taking her to church weekly ever since to make amends! (not) but to take role seriously.

I find them gruseome (the feet!) and slightly kitsch but I have no worries that my daughter will end up as a prostitute because, for three months, she chewed the foot of a Bratz doll.

And as far as i know, non of the bratz characters are sluts

You are forcing your own opinions into the situation, you say that it is horrible etc but there are plenty of other ugly looking dolls doing the rounds.

If your DD likes it why chuck it? that is just a waste of money. Let her play with it, if you dont like them so much then just ensure she doesnt get any more, but you cant censor everything.

My DD plays with them, she also likes to dress up and pretend she is a bratz rock star. What is the harm, it is out sordid interpretation which spoils it every time. My DD loves dressing up, she loves fashion and clothes and i would never take that away from her, she is only 5 btw and did completely lack confidence, shewas a very shy child. Now i allow her to have confidence in her choices of what she likes to play with and dress up as she is a lot less shy.

If you took the time to see any of the bratz stories thehy are actually typical child like stories with a caring moral, which i think is more important.

I know a good role model is what is important, but im sure the toys we played with as children didnt make us the people we are today, the role model is the parent, and if you go taking toys of your children because you dont like them well what kind of a message are you giving??

It is the worse Bratz I have seen as it is supersized and I love the way the packaging 'converts' to a bath...they both belong in the same place the bin.

Sarz, slightly off-topic, but I have to wonder why you didn't just get a doctor's outfit from the boys' section, instead of a nurse's outfit from the girls' one? Personally, I think that division sends little kids more worrying messages than Bratz dolls do.

My DD was given one for her 4th, luckily the person giving it told me (she said sorry I let X - her ds - choose it, it's a bit innapropriate).

I hoiked it out of the present pile and put it in the cupboard. If you pressed it it said "Lets go BOY HUNTING"!

I donated it in a box of (new) stuff to a mum who had lost out to that Xmas savings co that went bust.

My friend says that if they are going to have girl dolls called Bratz then theyn should have boy dolls called Tosser. Cool hey - anyone want to start up production with me? my dd is hankering after all things Bratz at the moment and i have to admit i think they are totally chavtastic ,however a friend of mines dd had loads of them and their little feet too and she has grown out of them at 10 ,doesnt dress like a tart ,plays football ,is well adjusted and polite . A doll is not going to make a small child dress like a slut ,their parents are .

I think they are naff, and 3 yrs is a bit young for that type of doll (be it Barbie, myscene, or whatever) but they are harmless. No amount of surgery can make a woman look like one, they are cartoon characters. My DD has them and she is perfectly normal and certainly doesn't dress like one . Besides, it is your choice as to how your child grows up - keep everything hidden from her instead of educating her and she may turn into the very thing you despise. Girls just love to rebel! Moderation, in everything and you'll end up with a happy, well balanced normal child.

My dd has lots of Bratz toys. At first I thought the same as most of you. Now I have changed my opinion.
On a cosmetic front yes they are pretty revolting. When you look closer they are supposed to be very self assured late teenagers. If you watch the movies it is all about self confidence and looking after yourself. They take a very moral stance on bullying and there is no sex at all. It is all about the friendship between the girls.
Would you all rather we went back to Barbie with her ridiculous breasts and her only goal in life was to marry a prince and ride her bloody pony!!!
Ps we even went to see the Bratz concert and it was brilliant.
