to think that £150 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a toaster

and even more unreasonable to have actually considered doing so (especially as we are a bit boracic just now).

I mean, is it REALLY going to make better toast than the £19.99 jobby from argos, or do i just want it to look pretty (very 50's retro) But seriously, does it make a difference? I remember my mother giving us quite an expensive toaster ages ago and it made shite toast, although it wasnt £150.

We have been making toast on the grill for years now because of the shite toaster but now i want a toaster and cant decide on £9.99 or saving up for an all singing all dancing toaster in primrose yellow and shiny chrome.

ah, alessi is that ridiculously priced ridiculous stuff in the shops that i see and i think, nah, they just have that on show, no one actually buys this LEM says bitterly.

freebie fun is hop to the dept stores for a free make over, don't buy anything and skip off feeling glam - i should know i do this frequently check website clinique for details of make overs

actually, could take the remaining £140 and buy my DDs birthday present of an overpriced play house, complete with kitchen for the garden. Reckon shed love that yes, thats what im going to do - right, im off to bed now

thanks, only prob with the alessi kettle is the bird thing that goes in the spout. You have to take it out before you pour it which is pain in the arse. Still love it though! Am a totally impractical when it comes to house stuff generally, have white sofa and a 2 year old!! DH has given up saying 'do you really think that is a good idea' when I want to buy stuff!

I have a dualit kettle but it isn't very good. Am going to get an alessi instead.

what i could do it this - go to tesco and get a toaster for a fiver and spend the other £145 on having my hair done. NOT that i have ever really considered doing that but i do want to have my hair done as i really really need to make myself look nice, ok so it might take more than a hair do, but need a confidence boost. been nearly two years since i last had hair cut and i hated the whole experience as i felt the hairdressers were taking the piss out of me, not been back since

DH and I bought a dualit after getting fed up of wasting money on cheap toasters that kept breaking after a few months - it is still going strong 5 years on (a good investment IMHO)

We still haven't managed to find a kettle that will last longer than a year though...

got a dualit toaster (£160) and an alessi kettle (£120) but I really love how they look! I reckon its better than spending my hard earned cash on gin and fags (which is where most of it went prior to having DD)

I have a dualit, it is one of the few remnants from my vulgar marriage. I wouldn't buy one now.

for £150 i would expect it to make the bread,toast it butter it and bring it up to me in bed! My dh can do that and it dosent cost me anything

We've now got one of these.
It does toast but also crumpets, filled toasties, paninis, bagels etc.

aly have you considered cognitive behavioral therapy for your hearing sunglasses talking issues?

i have two hugely expensive peices of jewlery (well expensive by my standards) which tbh we are probably still paying for as DP put them on the visa, they were presents so im not guilty, although i did tell him i wanted Carats for my birthday! This is indulgent but i justify that by saying that my girls will get them when im gone.
