To expect cyclists to actually cycle on the road or cycle path??

Am sick to death of them whizzing past me at dangerous speeds on the pavement! I'm profoundly deaf and don't hear them on the pavement so if I moved thinking there was nothing behind me, could cause a nasty collision as so many of them are going way too fast!

They don't seem to obey traffic lights either!!

Cyclists that jump the red lights really bug the sh*t out of me. If you're using the road then you obey the rules of the road. Simple

Unfortunately cars are allowed to park in a cycle lane (the red tarmac ones) unless there are standard double yellows.

The funny thing is, from what I've read, it's safer to run lights, at least in London. The only way cyclists die in London is by being run over and dragged by big trucks turning left. Law-abiding cyclists who wait at the lights get smushed, but the ones who run lights, live. Aparently women cyclists are more likely to obey the law, and hence get smushed more than men.

I still don't run lights, and don't cycle on pavements.

i did feel for the woman, she was pedalling like mad as you knew she was on a bend in the road and it's a bit of a race track

what i dont get is some of the red light cutting that you see round here, they are a cyclist, the carthat is going through a green light is a CAR, who is the most vunerable?? not the car!

though i saw a woman on a bike with one of those trailer things with a baby in it on a major road today and thought she'd be better off on the pavement

2shoes I agree with you too, but 2 wrongs do not make a right and just cos they are pissed off cos people park where they shouldn't doesn't give them the right to mow pedestrians down

yup, fine the drivers parking in the cycle lanes aswell, nothing against that.

Oh Chasing Squirrels, I used to live in Cambridge and it infuriated me that the cyclists thought they had right of way both on the roads and the pavements, many a time we had near misses with the children and the cycling students, I hope loads of them got fined

or just on the cycle path when there is one instead of the road. in cambridge in the week they were doing police patrols and fining them in pedestrian areas, going the wrong way down onw way streets, cutting red lights - bet it doesn't last though.
