to be peeved that my DSs birthday present has just arrived in CHRISTMAS wrapping paper?

My mum was always disorganised about this stuff when we were kids and often resorted to using tin foil

Yes you are a bit. He won't care. And better than not getting a present, or one that wasn't wrapped. Babies just like coloured paper. They don't care if is has snowmen on it, or balloons.

I wouldn't use obvious Christmas paper, just seems to indicate a lack of care over it...

I know it won't matter too much to a tiny boy but I know what you mean...and some people are just very disorganised, so I'd take that into account...it probably wasn't important to them, which makes a difference.

In other words just different standards but not meant to insult.

Wouldn't bother me - I'd just assume that the person realised at the last minute that s/he didn't have any gift wrap, and so had wrapped it in Christmas paper rather than just give it to you in a plastic bag. Which would presumably have been even more irritating!

Chill ... not worth getting het up over, imo.

If it is gloves and a scarf, then fairly inappropriate, as would be a Christmas bauble. But wrapping paper...not worth getting too excited about imo.

Why would anyone even have xmas paper in june??

I don't know Edam. I think its more important when yourbirthday is close to Christmas that it is made to be a seperate celebration as otherwise it gets overshadowed by the Christmas stuff. No chance of that happening in June.

No, YANBU. My mother's birthday is just after Christmas and she is still scarred by growing up being given one present 'for Christmas and your birthday' in Christmas wrapping paper. My sister and I are VERY careful about wrapping paper. Even worse in bloody June!
