To get narked off viewing houses where the owners have painted the radiators to match the walls???

Well I am?

Saw a house last week and each and every radiator was painted. Ranging from sky blue to burgundy. Why???????????

The whole lot would need to be replaced.

when my parents moved into their house every side of every door had been painted a different colour. it looked like a nursery school project. in the lounge one side of the door was green, the other side was blue and the door frame was yellow - I kid you not.

Also a girl I used to work with went house hunting once and in the kitchen all the cupboard doors had been removed and the cupboards converted into bird cages.

Let me go see - I know I have a yellow one somewhere in the same yellow that I am going to paint over ASAP and ideally in a life where I can afford Farrow and Ball paint.

Personally, I think white gloss radiators are grim in most situation anyway. Liking the farrow and Ball concept, or natural Victorian but not white gloss, yuck!

I think it would look ok in Farrow & Ball paint colours but believe me sky blue and burgundy cheapo is not a good look.

We have rads that blend in in a few of the rooms, albeit fairly inoffensive colourschemes. I think white rads against a dark wall would look worse than ones which blend in.

But will you not redecorate anyway. As soon as all the furniture is out houses look tired and dirty. Far more important things when buying a house than rads IMO

The rads in this houe were so old we had to paint them. We are replacing them slowly and I mean slowly.
