Why are some families so loud!!

Why are some families so loud? I mean why do yet have to shout when speaking to each other and generally have no regard for others? We’re staying in a lovely quiet self catering house in south devon, there is a large garden and shared pool with two other cottages. The people in the middle cottage are like us, a family of four, enjoying themselves, having fun but not shouting at the top of their lungs. Family in end cottage, three pasty kids singing loudly, screaming, unable to have a quiet conversation.

It’s the same in restaurants, we’re always sitting next to the loudest people in there 😂😂

God help me! AIBU and a grouchy old cow?

They are currently having a conversation from the pool (about 70 meters away) and mum in the front garden about coming in for tea. I’ve just taken a call from a woman in Edinburgh asking them to keep it down as they can’t hear their tele.

I dunno but my boys have inherited DH’s ‘why speak normally when a shout is so much better’ mentality!

I don't know, but I've got a load of them staying in my house right now. My anxiety levels are through the roof, they literally scream morning, noon and night.

My family is blended and therefore far from perfect but we do have respect for those around us. We’re staying in one cottage of three on a remote farm, what’s the chances?

My sister's family do this. The children shout rather than talk, she talks very loudly and so does the dad. Everything they play on tv or phone is really loud too. I think they're all deaf.

We stayed in a hotel/apartment complex in Spain a few years ago, and it was full of noisy shouty families who just yelled at each other the whole time. It wasn’t a cheap week away either. Our neighbours at home are really noisy as well so we deliberately book very antisocial holidays now Grin it means self catering all the way, but I don’t mind. We even check properties on google earth to see how overlooked they are before booking.
