for wanting to walk in the park without being bounced on by giant b*stard dogs?

I went running in the park the other week and this dog, almost as tall as me (a rodesian ridgeback or something), started charging towards me. I was terrified and stopped stiff in my tracks.
The humungous beast of a dog started jumping up at me, had it's nose in my crotch an allsorts. Twas most undignified.
"He's only playing with you" came the idiot response from it's owner.
There's also a woman who's regularly there with 4 rottweilers (sp?), none of them on leads.

There should be some kind of law that insists on dogs being on leads.

It's Ok, they won't tell them who complained. Worth a try. While being REALLY nice and friendly to them and admiring their dogs a lot to reduce suspicion.

Oh Paddingtonbear1 I hate bikes down bridal ways, I always stuck to them when riding my horse out as we cant really ride anywhere else due to traffic etc. So many accidents happened with bikes and riders where horses saw bikes at the last minute (being mostly youngsters in training)

Yeah, I think I might have to complain to Environmental Health...
It's a shame because I hate the thought of getting into 'disputes' with my neighbours

responsible dog owners command my respect.
i just dont understand why they want to be dog owners in the first place.

I was knocked over by a "friendly" dog when I was little. Took me years to get over my fear of them, then, when walking to work across a park one day was jumped on by the scariest dog ever, growling, teeth everywhere. Owner didn't even apologise .

Needless to say I am now terrified of dogs again.....

I'm a cyclist and I find a lot of dogs hate bikes! I don't cycle in parks but along bridleways, I've often been chased. My dad was brought off his bike once by a dog rushing out into the road in front of him.

At least they're picking it up!

My next door neighbours have half a dozen dogs (no joke - in a 3bed house with 3 kids awell!) and their garden is always covered in dog shite. They rarely clear it up and I can't sit in my garden for too long because the stench is awful.

Am off to the garden centre next week to buy lots of fragrant flowers to try to disguise the smell

I was walking my dd along the beach top and a bloke was walking a staff, my dd smiled at the dog (she was 18 months old at the time) he let it off the lead to come and see her - from a distance - couldnt shout at him as the wind was too strong. The bloody dog built like a brick wall jumped straight up onto my dd sweeping her off her feet and sniffed her all over - my dd was terrified.

She was so so scared she would pannic every time we passed a dog, so a couple of months ago I took her to see some jack russell pups, she chose one and we took him home, she has watched him grow and loves him.

Some dog owners think just because they love their dog everyone else does too Far from it.

i hate dogs. i think they are disgusting, dirty creatures full of germs, and mud and slobbery saliva. and gunk.
i think dog poo is completely disgustig. and when i see responsible dog owner picking the fresh poo up, i feel like vomiting. urrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh.
what makes perfectly sane people do such disgusting things?

I'm actually quite scared of dogs, and this is probably because I was chased by a large one in the park when I was small.

I like dogs. I wish we could get one for DS.
But I totally resent having to deal with them in public places when you have no idea if the big scary thing running at your DC is friendly or not.
A couple of months ago we were at a beach, not a crowded one, it was cold...anyway this dog is being walked by its owner, and runs up to DS (who is 3). It was HUGE and jumped up on him, scaring the sh*t out of him and almost knocking him over - actually I think it did.
The owner, older middle aged man, wanders up and says to us (in the midst of us all battling to get the bloody creature off DS, who is screaming) 'she's a bit enthusiastic. She broke someone's ankle last week!'
like it was really funny and endearing.
DS has been afraid of dogs ever since and that makes me absolutely FURIOUS. how dare someone instill terror in an otherwise fearless child???

I don't think it is the dogs I hate it's the irresponsible owners. My mother's labrador had my DD pinned against the wall and she thought it was OK - DD was screaming.

The worst bit is when the owner says "But he's only being friendly!"

I don't want him to be firendly thank you, I want him to be totally disinterested and go away!

The line that gets my dh really steamed up is 'Oh, he's never done that before.'
