To expect Tesco's to question my order?

This may make you laugh .

I started a tesco order online and booked a delivery slot and checked out so as not to lose the slot.
Had just put 2 avacados in the basket and got distracted by the children.
Went back to it later and forgot I had started the other order and proceeded to place another order for a few days time.

A couple of days later saw a Tesco van pull up outside and thought they are delivering the wrong day.
Up the path comes the Tesco man with 2 avacados in his hand for which I was charged £5.99 delivery.

How embarassed I felt,he must have thought she has more money than sense.
I did'nt question it ,just took them from him and quickly shut the door.

I would have thought as I am a regular customer Tesco would have rung me to question this.

Has anyone else done this or is it just me?

Oh I really am laughing my head off! That is a priceless thing to happen - can just imagine the Tesco man ringing the doorbell and handing you 2 avocados!

Last year when I was really ill I placed a smaller than usual order, and when the man (colin) delivered it he said "It's a lot less bags than you usually get Mrs Saltire, have we left some on the van, or has some been missed out". So sometimes they do notice, but that is funny, sorry

sunflowervalley, I just have to thank you for sharing this. I haven't laughed so much in years.

The vision of the Tesco man coming up your driveway with two avocados to ring on the doorbell.

The person at the depot who packed the order.

THe idea that someone would be so desperate for two avocados that they would pay 5.99 delivery charge.

You just couldn't make it up

Oh no! Thing is though that some people do just have tiny orders - I was chatting to our delivery man and he said some people literally do just order a couple of things because they can't be bothered to go to the shops

I wonder if you'd refused to accept the order whether they'd have refunded you?

i did the same thing on wednesday

but instead of 2 avocados it was 2 bottles of champagne (waitrose need you to spend min £40)

harrrumph - not ideal when you've just come back from holiday and your fridge is empty

(and you're pg so can't drink it anyway)

Who was it ordered 6 bottles of expensive wine to reserve their Ocado slot and forgot to replace them with their proper list?

Sainsbury's don't deliver orders under £25, so I'm really suprised at this but, I can't help laughing!

I think that I have done something similar deliberately (though admittedly it might have been for something more "essential" such as bread, milk or nappies).
