to hate plastic toys that are made up of a zillion tiny bits

Just done the play room.

Granted, possibly not as many as the flowers.

And YOY do the heads of the flowers have to detatch????

how many cannon balls can there be?

cos each window box has about 10 flowers and then there's the creeping vine up the side of the carport and then the outdoor garden area and the indoor plants in pots and, and, and, and they are not wholesome they are not they are not they are not

And stupid packs of cards, with letters and numbers and animals and other nonsense that get pulled out and muddled up and...are now in the bin...i don't care if they are educational. At least the cbeebies website is tidy.

and it it isn't wholeson flowers it is teeny, tiny wepons of mss destruction! You should see how many cannon balls ds has! Or manybe not, so many of them have gone to the big Dyson in the sky.

every time I tidy dd1's room up I edit bits from the playmobil house and she doesn't notice

I now have a bag of bits which is bigger than the house

a couple of christmases ago everyone bought her a different bt

as a result we had 18 bottles of wine in total, white and red, and a crate to go in the back of the car for empties

and the tiny flowers.... god the tiny detachable flowers... oh hell on earth all the damn tiny detachable endless flowers... there's about 9 bleddy window boxes and then a patio and indoor plants and

Martianbishop - thanks. I couldn't think of a name when I joined but I have a sticker of a purple parrot on the corner of my monitor which DS kindly put on there so I used that! figured, if I saw it every day I couldn't forget my username!

My sister bought my DS a lego dragon castle for christmas so when he was in bed we sat on the floor in our parents living room - were visitng at the time - and tried to put it together in our rather drunken state! some hours later, with parents thinking this was amusing and after much shouting we agreed to leave it til the morning when we were 'normal' again. The following morning I got up and started the castle... my sister nowhere to be seen because 'she doesn't do mornings!!!' and I put it together, grumbling throughout that this was her bloody idea and I had wanted to wait til I got home so I wasn't having to transport a castle 150 miles in the car with all of DS's other presents including a bike! finally finished, some hours later (again!), sent her pictures on my phone in triumph, boxed the whole thing up and transported it safely home in triumph again... only to have DS shred it again... you'd think I would have learned a lesson after the Hogwarts castle!

I got really excited when ds had to cover all his books by theme this year I spent hours trawling magazines for pictures etc and couldn't wait to do the RE one as I have a huge collection of pictures of religious icons!I need help!!!!!!!!

I do stuff like this all the time.

Made a 'treasure hunt' type thing for them to do on the drive to the last holiday. Maps or the areas we were driving through. Cue cries of 'Its too hard mum' and me seething while driving down the motorway!

I'm such a bloody fool!

So did I MB!I wanted to do it all properly but it doesn't work that way with kids and then I would be the one in a sulk.I am the same about homework 'projects' I get really anal about compiling everything as if it was for some corporate presentation and ds couldn't give a damn as long as its done1

funny that , we go a marble run thing from ELC about 7 years ago and my kids have played with it loads.

Big wastes of time for us have been board games like 'tooth fary' and 'Mousetrap' worthless bit of crap that was!

I used to hate things where you had to do stuff like magic or science kits.Fine in theory but full of little bits that ds would take out break and then the whole thing was pointless!

....also, marble madness. the kids got one for xmas from my brother (no dc of his own). The box says "60 PIECES" as if thats a good thing. DH had a fight with the bloody thing, putting it together. The pieces didn't fit properly. Once built, the marbles that came with it were too light to move various bits of it around and then it collapsed in a heap on the floor. Needless to say it hhas been chucked to the back of the cupboard to go with my pile of stuff for the car boot sale in a few weeks.

I think that purpleparrot (great name btw) and I share the same problem.

we care more about having all the bits in the right place etc than the bloody kids do!

If it doesn't worry the kids it shouldn't worry me....but it does.

Polly Pocket should go to hell! Whoever thought that one up? Obviously someone without children. What an annoying little [insert appropriate rude word here] she is, with all her stupid little teeny tiny clothes, shoes, combs, etc etc. Ugh!!!!

Sorry for the outburst...it felt good though.

It is one of the joys of kids growing up ds is 12 and the platic tat has diminished massively.Mind you other rubbish does replace it
