To be irritated when people on television say "Haitch"?

This wretched woman just said "Haitch Emm Ess" (HMS) and it drives me NUTS!

well there was a convo about this before and it tuned out tat 'haitch' is correct in Hiberno-English, which is what I speak so........

Try working in an accounts dept for a major retail shop and every bag sent in from said shops for our attention (over 500 shops) says 'Brought ledger dept' .

No but I'm surprised I don't look like a bar of chocolate the amount of it that I eat .

Fought is ok as in past tense of fight... fought as in I had a thought is urggh to me.

Haitch doesn't bother me as much as people substituting an 'f' for 'th' ie fousand and fink, fought etc.

Now I've read this though I'll probably add it to my list of teeth-gritting moments .

Haitch is incorrect - it is akin to putting circles over the letter i when writing. Haitch makes me (with my South London accent) become terribly terribly snobbish!
