To snigger unhelpfully in the background while dh is SERIOUSLY telling the children off???

I couldn't help it

I heard him go stomping into the boys' room (they are 2 and 4) and say, in his best righteous no-messing voice, "WHICH boy has spilt something strange on the bathroom floor?". Silence. "WELL?". Silence. More stomping as he goes back to the bathroom to assess the damage. Then back to the bedroom. "Right, now this is VERY serious. WHICH boy poured something strange into the bath and then danced in it? WELL?". "Nobody, Daddy, it was just an accident, we spilt some of your green shampoo." DH: "Now, I KNOW that's not true, because there are muddy footprints in the bath!"

DH: "Right. Now I want you both to go STRAIGHT to sleep, and I do not want to hear any giggling or silly noises. If I do, I will come up and take away Bed-duck AND Minty." (their bed-friends)

He's still stomping about downstairs in a mood about it, it's only a bit of shampoo, fgs

Something strange? Didn't he recognise his own shampoo? What on earth did he think they had spilt?

We;re going through a phase at the moment of trying to tell the boys off about stuff and one or other of us (or both) stifling giggles....

Unfortunately the boys have cottoned on, and smirk, which maddens me iykwim but just makes us giggle all the more.
