To hate it that it gets so personal on here sometimes.

The majority of people on mn are very nice but i think it gets too personal sometimes when there is a debate going on. I just don't get how some just can't seem to voice opinions constuctivly without knocking someone down because then it seems to catch on and before you know it, some poor sole is getting insults left, right and centre.

I do wonder why mn isn't moderated better. I realise that lots of threads under different topics are started each day, but the ones that get nasty and personal are usually the very long threads that last days so shouldn't be that hard to seek out.

I do wonder though when someone is getting a thrashing in a debate, how that person must be feeling really. Then i wonder about the people who are typing the nasty stuff whether they would say the stuff to a persons face in real life. I doubt it because it's very easy to hide behind a keyboard.

Sorry this is long but the personal thing is the only thing that annoys me about mn.

Greensleeves · 18/04/2007 15:22

Aw, no, we ALL get 'ignored' sometimes, it's because there are so many of us, it's not meant as a snub - just dig in and use your elbows

DearieMe · 18/04/2007 15:22

Oblomov · 18/04/2007 15:17

kks. the Fe thing was complicated, rare AND over the period of a very 'hormonal' Easter Weekend.

kks · 18/04/2007 15:17

Oh yeah she did provoke but i just thought telling her to find a new parenting site was a bit harsh.

Hilllary · 18/04/2007 15:17

I had an in depth chat with FE last week and she is actually a nice person, I had my doubts too but I think she just comes accross blunt.
