To think that £3 from the tooth fairy is too much

My ds had his first tooth removed today, after knocking it several times since he was two (front!!) again well over yesturday and was such a mess the dentist said come in we'll take ikt out (he's just turned 5 and no sign of big tooth yet)

So whilst talking he said, mummy I get £3 tonight don't I. After I finished chocking on my tea I said 'what makes you say that?' All the children at school get £3 when there's fall out (me thinking hum your in reception sure not many lost them yet) no ds you get £0.50 as if the tooth fairy gave £3 for each tooth she'd have no money left. He was okay with this

but...............I'm I being tight or is this the new price of the tooth fairy FFS 20 teeth at £3 is £60 no way lol

Anyway rant overxx

Ok, so we went up to get dressed and she said 'oh my tooth is gone' so I said oh well did you get money and she said no so we searched and searched, me for the money and her for the tooth and eventually she said 'oh well there was just one coin but the tooth was still there'. She was more or less complaining that she hadn't gotten enough money
She has been really sweet so far but does have a tendancy towards being a bit greedy(not particularly her fault as she is used to plenty of treats when seeing her dad). She is 7 1/2

I used to get fifty pence and once asked the tooth fairy to leave me some fairy dust to prove she existed. I imagine my mum eyeing up the contects of the hoover bag maybe...
No fairy dust, just fifty pence as usual

Our tooth fairy gave £2 for front teeth and double teeth, £1 for all the others.
Also she does quality control!
They have to be nice and clean with NO holes to get the money. That seems to encourage lots of teeth brushing

Aww Carmenere.. how old is she? I was a very innocent child.. when I was about 9 (!) I started to doubt a little bit, so I wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking what she looked like and then traced two different types of fairies from a story book (one short and fat, one tall and skinny) and put it under my pillow.

My dad got the note and replied to me in veerry teeeny handwriting and it kept me believing for a while more

Kids will believe anything LOL, I´m sure if she is concerned she´ll mention it, just be ready with a story! Or maybe she already knows she doesn´t exist anyway and is just being a chancer. Also when I was about 9 I started to doubt Santa and Mum told me that if I didn´t believe, how would he bring me presents?? Restored the faith.. funny that

Feeling a bit guilty atm because when I went in to put the cash under the pillow last night(£2 btw) I couldn't find the bloody tooth and so I had to leave it there becasue she is my dsd and this is only the third time she has stayed with us and I was scared of waking her as her dad isn't here atm. So this morning when I looked the money was gone so I took the tooth. No doubt she will have figured out the truthFeel like a crap step mum

There's no tooth fairy at my house. Well, my daughter hasn't lost any teeth yet, but as and when she does there will be no recompense of any sort. Maybe a macabre box for her to collect her teeth in or something, but no cash

DS1 thought he was going to have a tooth out today but the dentist said it would come out on its own, he was only happy till he worked out no tooth fairy tonight.

Shiny £1 per tooth for all the 5/6yo's I know and am, rather excitedly, expecting tooth fairy's first visit to our house anytime now!

DSs get £5.00 for the first tooth and £2.00 per tooth after that.

I only got 5 or 10p in the early 80's.

DD and DS did get £2 a tooth, but early on DD had a horrible 'dangling on a thread' front tooth that I wanted her to pull out so made up a story that the tooth fairy paid £5 on a Saturday night only. The tooth was duly pulled and £5 paid - 'cept now they both keep their teeth all week and put them under the pillow on a Saturday for the extra money!

Considering they figured this out for themselves at 6 and 5, without checking with me, the tooth fairy now happily pays up - proud of their entrepreneurial spirit.

I am a bit shocked now at the stinginess of the tooth mice in these parts.

my children got a pound or euro, depending where we were, for the first tooth, and nothing for the others!

cant remember what I got in the 70s - think it was 10p for the first one. But there was no question of getting owt for the rest of them!

Indeed Ruby. My ds is 21 months and we are still suffering hugely with these teeth coming in. He only has four proper ones, two bits of ones and two more on the bottom which are getting ready to sprout - and this is in 17 months of near-continuous teething!

If I could pay the effing tooth fairy to bring the teeth in I would willingly part with several large notes.

Tribpot I think I'll remember that one LOL and use it when he gets older and thinks £0.50 is nothing!!

Bit down now though my mister man must be growing up if I'm posting about the tooth fairy

dd 1 got a fiver for her 1st lost tooth ,but only because daddy was tooth fairy on that particular evening and he had been to the pub and was rather merry

I thought 20p was quite generous but £1 seems to be preferred, funnily enough. If she wants that much she has to hope daddy-fairy is up for it.
