to be irritated by men on dating sites who are hurtling towards (and sometimes, past) 40...

..and yet still specify that all they are interested in meeting is women in their 20s with no kids?

Do they seriously think there is an underground bunker somewhere just outside the M25 full of nubile 21-year-olds just gagging to fondle their balding pate?

Gah.

Younger blokes are more immature in general and need teaching too much (been there done that )

lou33 · 12/04/2007 19:48

bgd you will make me blush

men pretending to be women seems to be quite a common thing

ChelseaDagger · 12/04/2007 19:16

PMSL nighowl - that really is quite disgusting.

nightowl · 12/04/2007 19:06

there's a guy who has been advertising in our local free paper for well over six months, must be.

"61 year old male blah blah blah looking to meet lady 18-21 blah blah blah"

18 - 21 ?????

Spidermama · 12/04/2007 18:50

I've never taken into consideration the size of a man's wallet when deciding whether or not to shag him. In fact in my history, when given the choice I've twice opted for the creative one over the rich one, even though I fancied them both.

However I can certainly see the added attraction of a large wallet.

In aswer to the OP, no. Quite right. I can't stand these pervy old duffers. Where the fuck do they get off thinking they deserve or merit a much younger and more attractive woman? It's seriously delusional.

BigGitDad · 12/04/2007 18:32

That is who my sister is going to marry! She is so happy! (Okay I was joking!)

wheresthevalium · 12/04/2007 18:28

I am currently going out with a fantastic man that I met on a dating website, we chatted on-site for a bit, progressed to msn, then mobiles, then home phone then met. This weekend he told me he loved me (which is reciprocated) blissfully happy at the moment, hope it lasts.

He was saying that the main problem men get is the freaky 50 yo men who like to pretend to be young girls

BigGitDad · 12/04/2007 18:17

Anyway Lou I have seen the lovely pics of you and your family and you can easily afford to cherry pick on those sites!

lou33 · 12/04/2007 17:55

yes i am not entirely sure why it is frowned upon sometimes

BigGitDad · 12/04/2007 17:51

My sister is marrying the guy she met on a dating web site and he is lovely. Also one of my best friends met his partner on the same web site and they now live togther and have a baby. Additionally another one of my friends has met a lovely lady who he seems to be going well with. (Fingers crossed for him as he is such a lovely bloke) When he showed me some of the women on his dating web site I was quite impressed as there were some really nice women on there. If I was single (which I am not)I think it would be the way to go, how else can you meet people of the opposite sex, chat to them and get an idea of if you are suited. It seems to be the easiest way today.

lou33 · 12/04/2007 17:35

your second assumption is correct

trouble is they need too much teaching when they are too young

i did my older than me thing, now i am evening things up by doing younger men for the forseeable future

i am equal ops

UnquietDad · 12/04/2007 17:29

Why do some women only go for older men? It seems a rather narrow criterion.

Conversely, I thought the world was full of randy young-dumb-and-full-of-you-know-what 22-year-old lads looking for a "MILF" to teach them a thing or two?

lou33 · 12/04/2007 17:20

i shall try my best

marieg76 · 12/04/2007 13:41

Ha ha - Lou - you must try to contain yourself .

willywonka · 12/04/2007 13:33

My Dad's in his sixties and started internet dating after he & my Mum split a couple of years back. Proved so successful he ended up amending his age to 89, so that he would fall outside the preferences for the apparent wealth of women "of a certain age" who were also on the look out. Seem to recall it costing him a fortune in pub-style lunches

lou33 · 12/04/2007 13:27

i'll just clarify i meant sort him out in not a good way

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 12/04/2007 13:02

Well and 30 and dh is 44, we've been together 8 years. He was unemployed when we got together, so not a golddigger.

But then I would only ever date men 10-20 years older than me. When I was 16 my bf was 32.

Manictigger · 12/04/2007 12:57

My dh has 2 single friends both aged 40 looking for gfs. One is divorced with 2 kids but is looking for someone of same age or younger with no kids (because of the baggage) who can categorically say they NEVER want kids . The other looks like a taller Matt Lucas with glasses, has his mother come round to do his housework and goes on blind dates and then complains that a woman's tits weren't big enough.

Any takers?

suejonez · 12/04/2007 12:04

well I'm Surry/London border so not impossible

lou33 · 12/04/2007 11:42

lol i live near guildford, i could sort him out for you!

marieg76 · 12/04/2007 10:26

sue - I wouldn't wish him on anyone - not even an enemy

He's not only got all of this criteria, he actually thinks he's pretty much perfect. DH and I are moving house having renovated our current place (second time we've done this and we've done fairly well out of it). DH was talkign with this bloke at the weekend regarding our next move and he basically said that we didn't know what we were doing and that it really was about time that we "learned about Guildford". So kind of him to provide such patronising advice when not needed or requested.

ARe you still interested?

suejonez · 12/04/2007 10:23

well the only bit of that I comply with is the height so don;t think I qualify! Think you should set him up on a blind date with me to teach him a lesson!

marieg76 · 12/04/2007 10:07

A friend of my husband is pushing 40 and won't even consider anyone about 30. He's not interested in women "with a past" as he calls it so no kids, no divorces etc. Also, they've got to be above 5'2 as he's quite tall so he thinks they'll look ridiculous together otherwise. Additionally, he hates English girls so Meditteranean women are preferred as they are "really into cooking and cleaning".

He wonders why he is single... He's all yours ladies!

lou33 · 12/04/2007 10:02

the best of the worst ones are currently about to go online on the site i was getting traffic for

suejonez · 12/04/2007 09:39

sorry never did get back on last night. I never had the neve to tell him I'd seen his entry - felt so sorry for his wife though. Expat - I would laugh if it was the same man (slightly manically as I can't bear the thought that some other poor woman might have had to put up with him)
