to think a nightclub disco for babies on a saturday afternoon is sad

...just saw this on breakfast tv

"babygrooves" dark, nightclubby set up for parents and babies who miss clubbing

quote from a dad "well it's not really cool but it's better than going to the park or something"

and is having a bar at these events any different to visiting a Wacky Warehouse (or similar) attached to a pub.......or even worse have a boozy BBQ at home????

We went to a baby rave last year and it was totally fab

there were loads of toddlers dancing and having a great time, funky lights, slide show, couple of decks, giant parachute, loads of gym balls and swirly material to play with

oh plus face painting

all the parents and children loved it - I asked them if they would do it every week but unfortunately they tour around the country and were just visiting our little town

I remember reading about this a good while ago(3 years?). Iirc it was possibly Caitlin Morans husband who was bringing their baby to it. I could be wrong though.

Was this a London thing?

I remember reading about a chill-out session for people with kids, it was Sunday afternoon, lounging about, papers, games, drinks, food. West London, or I would have been tempted.

Hmm... I bet this nightclub is doing really well financially, and is just doing this as a service to the community.
It's taking diversification a little too far, IMO.
What next?
Disco for Dogs.
Kindergarten Karaoke.
Abba and Asbo Nite.

There's always a vomit incident in a nightclub, but I guess that's what they'll be using the babies for.

i hope its authentic

ie stinks of fags and stale beer
ripped seats
£20 to get in

then you have to stand outside for an hour and 40 mins to get a taxi home
