to expect my childminder to use DS's £400 pram for him!!!!!

Well, i'm silently fuming! When one of my ds's starting with a childminder friend we bough a silver cross linear freeway for her to use so that we don't have to lug prams etc around all the time. He is her only charge as he is mildly disabled and she is fantastic with him, however, yesterday i nipped out of work to go to the bank and saw something that has wound me up!

The childminders daughter has come to visit for a few days with her 8-month old baby, so there's the start of the story!

I turned round in town and saw my SC pram (very distinctive as is a limited edition colour and i've not seen one the same) went over to say hello to DS and what did i see- the grandaughter sitting in my lovely pram, and my ds shovelled into a cheapo £15 beach type buggy- no padding, no canopy, doesn't lie back etc!

should i say something? am i being silly? Just really annoys me that the daughter is a real cheapskate- has the cheapest of cheap travel system from argos then swans off with my pram as soon as she gets the opportunity! I would understand if she had a small car and couldn't fit everything in, so asked in advance if she could borrrow it, but i know for a fact that her travel system is in the boot of her very large car!!!

So what did you do when you saw them?

Are you 100% certain her travel system is in the boot of her car, and if so, how?

I think it's worth asking the childminder why your ds wasn't in his pram. My guess would be that your childminder wanted to give her grandaughter a go in the lovely pram, to see how she enjoyed it.

Actually, this may contravene c/m rules - mindees can't share sheets iirc, so if this child was in your pram w/o changing the sheets it is quite dodgy.
Agree with those who say the cost of the pram is pretty irrelevant, its the use of someone else's pram which is bad.

I think what annoys me is that fact your son was in another pram. Nothing wrong with a cheap pram[believe me we have had a few] but if I paid out a lot of money for my Dc to find them put in a cheap pram while someone elses child is in my pram I wouldnt be happy.

I would be extremely cross if someone else was using my pram for their child and had mine in another one for no obvious reason!

Maybe you could find out some of the facts first before slagging someone off for having a cheap buggy?

I'd be slightly annoyed too, if she is only staying for a few days would it be worth mentioning it? if it bothers you that much and you suspect that she wasn't looking after it, then I would say something.

I'd be fuming,too. In fact, if she didn't come up with a very good reason for it I would look for another childminder.

I would be fuming more so because my child was in a different buggy while another child was in his

This is a bit cheeky imo. Not sure if it is worth potentially upsetting a fab c/m with though.
