A shop has just started selling guns at the top of our road......

It was dreadful tigermoth. It makes me cry just to think about it. The other boy was charged with manslaughter but was found not guilty. Two families lives in tatters.

There are gun laws obviously but they'll be broken either purposefully or because owners are careless and irresponsible. Those sort of shops should be outlawed. It makes me so angry.

you can sell them as long as the purchaser is over 17..restrictions on larger ones apply, 14-17 year olds can be lent them to use under supervision

in a public place they have to be in a secured gun case

The ones I saw were not replicas - they were also selling shot to go in them

I walked into town today and I noticed that the Pawn shop had a display of rifles and also a "birthday" type shop had started selling them. I was shocked.

The police will still shoot you - they won't know it's a replica.

Even replicas and airguns sold legally can get into the wrong hands.

One of my dd's best friends was killed last year by an air rifle. The gun (a massive thing) was his friend's dad's. He allowed them to play with it and this lovely young man, he was 12, was accidentally shot by another friend.

That must be awful to have near your house,i am always shocked where they let people have a license to seel them.
We live about 10miles from Rampton hospital( A place for the criminally insane i.e. Beverley Allit and co).As you turn into the road to it there is a very big gunsmiths ,every time I go past I am in .I can't help thinking what a strange place for it to be!

shops that sell bongs, fairies,sex novelties etc actually seem to do rather well here

they can't sell the bb guns to children or unsuitable people and the customers have to be careful about imitation guns in public places

there is a potentially big fine for that about 3-5k i think

VVV, it was a big article, and I guess its been archived and shrunk, the gist was he sold a teeny weeny 1 inch pack of craft knifes to someone under age, was a undercover boy for the ...whoever? and he got fined 2-3 thousands pounds and shut up shop. He too sold bb guns.
He couldnt afford to keep open after that.

MandM - they will be replicas, de-activated guns (with teh middles drilled out) or BB guns (plastic thingies)

They won't be doing anything illegal selling them, unless they are selling them to children.

If they are just selling them to adults don't get your knickers in a twist as you'll just get madder and madder and the law won't touch them.

I don't think you'll end up with all the teenagers in your area running about spraying bullets from an AK47 ffs

I think in this day an age guns shouldnt be available to buy at all. Its ridiculous.

I cannot believe any ordinary shop could legally sell real AK47s in the high street. Are you really sure? Notify the police today.

Fake guns (including toy ones) have to have a red tip on their barrel, so they can be differentiated from real ones. Although I would think criminals are clever enough to paint their real guns red

Well you need a licence to sell and a licence to buy and they can't be openly on display so I'm guessing they are either fakes or she's breaking the law.

I'd badger police, council, your MP and the Inland Revenue (if nothing else fails the revenue will get 'er!)

I'm 99.99999999 per cent certain it's really not legal to sell AK47s on the high street. call your local police station and express your concerns
