emkana .. it tastes foul .. that's what's wrong with a pizza from Pizza Hut .. it is a chewy, thick rendition of a crepe sole on a shoe .. I like Domino's though

I live in the South Twig. Swansea.

Swansea is a great place to visit though, lots to do for children and some amazing sights.

And I live here

emkana · 19/03/2007 19:42

I love Mumsnet, I really do, but the food snobbery really gets on my nerves sometimes.

What is wrong with pizza from Pizza Hut?

Nothing, that's what.

And a cheeseburger from McD actually contains 12 g of fat, not 33.

ImaWurzel · 19/03/2007 19:41

'and chav's'

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/03/2007 19:41

It's an ibiza fav, twiggy.

Aloha, there are definitely unhealthy versions of all things. They can and do vary from place to place. I didnt suggest that McDonalds was worse than another. The only issue I have with McDonalds really is that they put sweeteners in just about EVERYTHING. Hamburgers included.

I pride myself on being a smug, poncetastic paid up member of the food police.

DD came for lunch with DP and I a few weeks ago.

I ordered spag bog for her, and whilst we were waiting, she was chanting "pasta pasta pasta" and pointing at the counter where I had ordered the food.

I was basking in the smug glow of my parenting skills.

Until DP said "she means pastie, shes pointing at the pasties and pies"

Little bugger

Aloveheart · 19/03/2007 19:38

There is 33grams of fat in a cheeseburger from maccy d's. .

Twiglett · 19/03/2007 19:38

I have never heard the mcdonalds song or anything like it before

StrawberrySnowflakes · 19/03/2007 19:37

i thought you were offering to go for a carry out then

Twiglett · 19/03/2007 19:37

embarrassingly, with reference to points raised on this thread .. before I heard the song, over dinner, DS asked me about Pizza Hut

and I said "Well darling, it makes pizza .. but not very nice pizza .. not as nice as Pizza Express or xxx (our local pub with its woodburning pizza stove)"

ne'er mind my 3 year old asks for babyccinos in the local greasy spoon too

sorry what??
Grenade blast deafened me a bit there!!

Aloha · 19/03/2007 19:35

And I bet Cafe Rouge is packed with Mumsnetters - me included. But I don't delude myself that the chips with mayo there are suddenly healthier than Macdonald's chips with ketchup. Rather less so!

ImaWurzel · 19/03/2007 19:35

kentucky fried chicken. . . .
(i like this place. DH loves Burger King)
We only have their stuff once a month. Well not even then, haven't had any since before chrimbo. Doing good.

WelshBoris · 19/03/2007 19:34

"Just a song?"

And Hitler was just someones son.

Boris throws grenade in, runs away giggling.

Aloha · 19/03/2007 19:34

God, I knew there was a reason why I thought Brownies and Guides was insufferable, even as a child

It's all such revolting snobbery.

WelshBoris · 19/03/2007 19:34

But you wouldnt ram your head into a salad bowl if you saw a Mumsnetter in Cafe Rouge Aloha!

well my dd sang it at brownies/guides etc for years...she's 15 now and wouldn't step inside one of these places if you paid her!

Aloha · 19/03/2007 19:32

It's not just a song though, is it? It's a propaganda song.

brimfull · 19/03/2007 19:32

it's only a bloody song !!

DrMarthaMcMoo · 19/03/2007 19:31

We had a school trip to Pizza Express - the manager told us most of their salads are higher in fat than their pizzas

Aloha · 19/03/2007 19:31

MarthaMoo, that doesn't surprise me, and it really does piss me off.

Aloha · 19/03/2007 19:30

No, I think a Pizza Hut pizza is every bit as nutritious as a Pizza Express one....it's just a lot less nice and middle class

And chips from macdonalds are exactly the same as ones from Cafe Rouge.
