Just been reading a thread further down where yes some scumbag bloke had been horrible to someone. Lots of outrage and tell him he has a small dick, tell him he has a micro penis basically mock the size of his genitals.

Can you imagine if a woman upset a bloke and all his mates said tell her she has awful labia, tell her her fanny is horrible, tell her she doesnt look normal down there
Its horrific!!

Do you know how many lovely men with smaller penises get inundated with this? Do you know how many teenage boys worry themselves to death because of comments like these?

Its depressing/sexist/cruel and plain nasty. You should be ashamed of yourselves!

Not hypocritical at all. Honest

claraschu · 22/04/2017 19:08

Agree it's an incredibly stupid, not-funny, pathetic thing to say.

Can we agree that it is ok to make fun of Tr*mp's tiny hands though? (Considering that he REALLY asked for it.)

Saldebain · 22/04/2017 19:08

Slightly off topic but on FB recently there were lots of adverts for the "quiff" company. Basically a company which made stick on quiffs/wigs for young men who'd gone bald early.

So many women posting with "omg that's so gross" "imagine waking up next to that". "Talk about false advertising"

Like we haven't been walking around with make up, push up bras, spanxs, fake nails, hair extensions and fake tits for years! And I'm in deepest darkest Essex where those things are the norm. Major double standards

MercyMyJewels · 22/04/2017 19:07

It's- you spoiling for a fight my luv? - Oh forgot.. Grin

Please everyone don't ignore me!

WorraLiberty · 22/04/2017 19:07

Give it a rest and start standing up for women

Like insulting women by calling them 'Handmaidens'?

Hypocritical much?

BertrandRussell · 22/04/2017 19:07

User- if the OP had come on here to talk about her son, then of course she would have got loads of sympathy. But she made a general point. I missed the post when she said she was talking about her son. But even without the personal element most posters agree that body shaming is wrong. Just that it is a much, much bigger problem for women that men.

PoorYorick · 22/04/2017 19:06

I wonder what the motivation is for women to use the insult.

Again, I'm not saying it's right, but it's because there isn't actually much else in our society to express contempt for a man. There are many, many more words to insult women than men, even neutral terms like "courtesan" and "mistress" which should just be feminine equivalents for "courtier" and "master" have been reduced and sexualised.

Men aren't judged on their appearance or sex lives, which is why the go-to insults of women for being fat, ugly, undesirable, promiscuous and so on just....aren't insulting to men, or not considered important.

worridmum · 22/04/2017 19:06

I am sorry but double standards are always wrong

female body shaming is always wrong and so not matter how much more body shaming females suffer validate male body shaming

Its like saying Black people should be allowed to be racist to asian /native american / any other minority or people from the indian sub-coninet because the racism they suffer is much worse.

We cannot campagn for total intolerance of female body shaming while turning a blind eye to male body shaming

MercyMyJewels · 22/04/2017 19:05

It's not about the OP's son, she mentioned him in passing And yes I'm sure boys worry much about the size of their equipment. Not half as much as girls and that worry endorsed and expoited by fashion, beauty and cosmetic surgery industries. As well as very many males. Give it a rest and start standing up for women

WorraLiberty · 22/04/2017 19:04

Have you noticed all the people agreeing with you? But also trying to broaden the discussion out a bit. Because "Yes, I agree" is a bit dull for a whole thread!

Not as much as I've noticed all the people trying to justify it or who aren't fussed about it, no.

I guess they just jump off the page a bit more.

And no doubt, some with have sons of their own. Let's hope they never get upset by comments made towards them by females, if all they're going to get back is, "Well it's worse for women".

They might as well go the whole hog and tell them to 'Man up' FFS.

Any body shaming is awful.

But, if it's the thread I'm thinking of where the man messaged his wife's friend and body shamed his wife (to her own friend), I find I can't bring myself to feel all that bad for him tbh. I'm not saying that they're right in suggesting the wife's friend body shames him right back, but I'm not about to defend his honour or anything like that.

DrasticAction · 22/04/2017 19:04

She was wrong. Awful thing to say. Esp from DM Shock

Guy with a small penis was the best lover I ever had....Grin

BertrandRussell · 22/04/2017 19:02

But while I do think that when it comes to body shaming, it will be quite a while before it's the problem for men that it is for women........

usernumbernine · 22/04/2017 19:01

If I posted on here that my DD was getting boob jokes because she's large of breast, I would get sympathy.

I would never get the attitude the OP has had here, and it's her son who she is talking about. Empathy is in short supply, it seems.

Janey50 · 22/04/2017 19:01

Although having said that,I would never insult a man for having a small penis unless he had insulted me about the size of my breasts first

BertrandRussell · 22/04/2017 19:00

"It's a shit thing to insult anyone's genitals and says far more about the person doing it."

Have you noticed all the people agreeing with you? But also trying to broaden the discussion out a bit. Because "Yes, I agree" is a bit dull for a whole thread!

Janey50 · 22/04/2017 18:59

Is it that different to women being judged and insulted by men because of the size of their breasts? Sorry but when men stop doing that,I will find it in me to be annoyed about this.

OnionKnight · 22/04/2017 18:59

Emoticon fail Grin

Forwardsforwards · 22/04/2017 18:59

I have first hand experience of a man with a very small penis. Whilst it didnt bother me particularly, I fear it bothered him and he projected that frustration onto me.
We're no longer together, but I do wonder if his hang-ups influenced how he treated me. Not defending the indefensible, but I wonder what the motivation is for women to use the insult. Is it because they're hurt and lashing out, or just plain nasty.

I expect it is a bit of both.

I'd never ever approve or encourage genital shaming. Can see why ppl might b engage in the practice.

OnionKnight · 22/04/2017 18:59

Fair few handmaidens on this thread.

How fucking predictable []hmm]

MercyMyJewels · 22/04/2017 18:58

Because you are one?

TizzyDongue · 22/04/2017 18:57

Imagine if someone said woman were precious for saying its shit to say 'fanny like a welly boot top'

Again, no imaging needed.

People are really trying to justify 'tit for tat' here?

Personally I wouldn't have mention anything if the OP hadn't tried the 'imagine if men..' route.
