When people pull up outside your house early in the morning (to give a neighbour a lift) and they have the engine noisily 'idling' for 10 minutes or more instead of being considerate and turning the engine off while they wait.
Every sodding morning. Don't need to set an alarm.

It's not as if it's the middle of winter and the car needs warming up. It's not an old car either.

Next door's kids play out , bit of kid noise no problem. Mum joins them and she's far louder than them yelling at them to keep it down ......I work from home and if it's nice like to have the door to the garden from my office open. No chance when she's out there. I've never complained as its my choice to work from home and it's irritating rather than unbearable.

In my last house I had the neighbours from hell. Woken at 6.30am with their morning row and him calling her every vile name going , usually then calmed down til they came back from the pub with their scummy mates. She'd wind him up flirting with any bloke with a pulse and he'd always bite. Police would be around at least once a week and the neighbour on the other side of them resorted to ringing their landlord up at 1 and 2am so he could hear them too. There was serious talk of a street party the day they moved out.

RepentAtLeisure · 15/08/2016 10:29

The fact that they choose to have most of their screaming rows at 7 in the morning. I don't have to get up till 8 but it's rare that my alarm wakes me up before they do. We have very thin walls too. Last Saturday the woman and her teenage DS had a two hour fight over who was going to buy bread for toast. It's exhausting.

My next door neighbours moved in a couple of years ago, before that it was an elderly couple. now it's a young couple and their two children and I hadn't realised until they arrived just how much the sound from their garden travels into my room if the window is open - it's like they are stood next to me, and the children scream a lot. The other day the dad sneezed and I nearly shat myself because it sounded like he was in the bed with me! But I grew up in this house so the elderly couple probably had the same issues with me when I was a kid!
Across the road, they get dropped off late at night quite a lot and they and their friend will have a conversation for like fifteen minutes, so there is the low hum of the engine idling as well as the sound of voices, so annoying.

MakeJam · 15/08/2016 10:24

Where I used to live - stinking bonfires. I think he used to wait until I put the washing out. He was a cranky old sod.

Where I live now NDN loves a BBQ especially at weekends but lights it with stinky firelighters that smell of petrol.

Smoking fags and weed where I can smell it would drive me insane. Puritanical self righteous ex-smoker here. Grin

Pendu · 15/08/2016 10:23

Mine (2 houses up) just let their DD just come here whenever. This summer she's just been here any day my dc are here up until as late at 830. Literally she has just walked through the door as I was eating breakfast just now. I've never met the mum in my life but if my DC were going to someone's house literally all day every day I would at least make sure it's ok with them or tell my DC to not just roll up at all hours.

They don't know where she is for maybe 10+ hours at a time and we live in a forest area with a lake literally a stones throw from my front door. They've had a new baby a few months ago and apparently she's going away to live with her dad soon so I get the impression she's abit unwanted Sad

WaitrosePigeon · 15/08/2016 10:22

My next door neighbor always farts about with his van loudly around 11pm at night. Does my head in!

purplevase4 · 15/08/2016 10:22

Having bonfires.

PitchFork · 15/08/2016 10:21

IceRoadDucker · 15/08/2016 10:18

I like hearing the neighbours recycling their piles of wine bottles every Sunday evening. Makes me feel smug Grin

ohtheholidays · 15/08/2016 10:17

Sodding neighbour next door,I can't go out our front or back gardens to work on them without her coming out and watching me.
It's not just the fact that she watches me it's the fact that she slams her front door/back door, slams her bin lids down goes in and out of her car slaming her car doors and her gate to make a point of the fact that she's come outside to try and watch what I'm doing!

She's a walking asbo!Drug dealing, starting on the neighbours. She hates the fact that are gardens look really nice, despite being ill and disabled I take real care of our gardens.

I don't care what hers looks like,I just wish she'd bloody leave me alone.
We'll do something to our garden and then a couple of days later she'll try to do the same to hers,if she can't afford to her behaviour gets even worse.

My DH put this to the test a few weeks ago,he started talking out our back garden about something he wanted to do to our back garden(not loudly he was talking to one of our adult sons)something very distinctive(I told him to pack it in)he said I'll do it on this date when I have the money(2 weeks later)he had no intention of doing it,a few days later pain in the arse neighbour does it to her back garden!

2 weeks pass and he doesn't do what he said to our garden, she gets even worse about spying on me when I'm in the garden,4 weeks later DH says to me out our back garden your right(nothing to do with me the little sod)I'm glad I didn't do that to the garden. The same day she rips it all out of her back garden!

She's started on us,tried to start on our DC,thrown cat mess(from her cat over our garden)thrown snails over our garden, she was caught doing it all.

The Police and Council are working together to get rid off her and her adult daughter who is sadly as bad as her Mother.it's a shame she trys to ruin things for everyone else, our other neighbours are lovely.

peppercold · 15/08/2016 10:17

One side gets his empties goes upstairs and chucks then into the recycling bin from his bedroom window! Or at least that is his it sounds CRASH! every Fucking hour and it makes my baby jump every night aarrgghhh!

Oh and on the other side, he seems to go to the bathroom every time I do? I hear him turn the light on every time I'm in there Confused

Resurgam2016 · 15/08/2016 10:16

Lights bonfires without checking if I have washing on the line/ all the windows open.

Had to rewash x3 loads the other day Grrr Angry

Babyroobs · 15/08/2016 10:13

I have neighbours one side who allow their kids to scream relentlessly for long periods of time in the garden thus destroying any peace and quiet we could hope for. the other side have a yappy vicious dog that has attacked numerous other dogs meaning I cannot relax and allow my dog to be in the garden unsupervised in case it wriggles through the hedge. Then we have ones across the road who block my car in because they don't want to park on their own driveway for some bizarre reason ( I thik it's to do with oil stains on their posh driveway !!)

IceRoadDucker · 15/08/2016 10:11

Exactly the same as the OP. People leaving their engines idling pisses me off anyway (pointless pollution), but outside my frickin' window?? The taxi driver a few doors down is particularly bad for that. I have a diesel car and don't turn it on until I'm ready to pull away.

The morons over the road who send their badly-raised children into the street where they "play" by shrieking at each other and kicking a ball repeatedly on the concrete, even though there's a massive park within view of our houses. The whole family communicate by shouting and the children are usually out barefoot. No neglect as far as I can see, just complete lack of any social standards. /snob

MrsEvadneCake · 15/08/2016 10:11

I have a new neighbour. Sad
Gardening at 1am. Drilling the shared wall at 11pm.
So after two weeks of weird late night noise my harmonious start of welcome to the very quiet grove has changed to having to say that it's not on to be noisy that late as its disturbing people.

MadameCholetsDirtySecret · 15/08/2016 10:11

My neighbours are dreadful. Last time I went over to thier house for drinks, they served non vintage champagne. Shock Grin

Braeburns · 15/08/2016 10:09

Our neighbours are generally great (now that the street prefect as everyone called her moved away). Next door was awesome when we had to get her agreement for building work and we are friends with several others. I do have a not so secret crush on one neighbour (which my DH finds hilarious).

Previously had neighbours who got drunk and fought every weekend and used to call off their engagement on the Sat night and make up loudly on Sunday so very grateful for what we have now.

BibbidiBobbidi · 15/08/2016 10:06

Another smoking one!

I've nothin against people that smoke but it makes me very angry that they stub their fags out on my White House Angry I'm in the process of having a wall built to stop them getting by it.
Also, they let their kids chuck their scooters up against my back door.

Bloody rude.

hollyisalovelyname · 15/08/2016 10:06

Going away and not leaving a key with another neighbour and being uncontactable and their house alarm going off for what seems like forever.

Lottielou7 · 15/08/2016 10:06

Parking over my drive comes a close second.

Lottielou7 · 15/08/2016 10:05

Fucking bonfires about 5 times a week starting early and sometimes going on for 6 hours Angry. They are also burning things that you aren't supposed to put on a bonfire. When we ask them to pack it in they say they're having a barbecue. Yeah right, do you think I was born yesterday? I can see you putting the fucking stuff on.

Sorry for rant but I have flu and the smell is more sickening than ever.

IceBeing · 15/08/2016 10:04

one set of neighbours are lovely...except that they once randomly decided to kill the weeks in a bit of our front lawn using petrol....and once painted their fence and several of our raspberry plants with shitty Tommy Walsh poundland paint so we couldn't eat any of the fruit this year.

The other set have family around a lot. This entails smoking in the garden and screaming at kids until gone midnight.

Mostly I worry all the other people on the estate which is creepily quiet apart from this lot will think the noise is coming from us...

timelytess · 15/08/2016 10:02

Existing.

They do a lot of horrible things but if they didn't exist, that would put a stop to it. I don't harbour murderous intent. I just hope they'll be taken in the rapture any day now.

SaucyJack · 15/08/2016 09:59

Hacking up great big lumps of phlegm, and then gobbing it over the balcony into the communal garden below. Chucking fag butts over the balcony. Chucking rubbish over their balcony. Pissing through the railings of their balcony..... Weird thing is their own flat is spotless.

MrsGsnow18 · 15/08/2016 09:58

After reading all these I do appreciate my neighbours a bit moreShock
However they did recently put weed killer over the fence into OUR side of the garden and kill lots of our grass, and we have a dog so that I felt just wasn't on!
However DH was a bit behind on the strimming so I guess they were annoyed that our grass was coming through the fence into their patio area.
A quick polite conversation would have sorted it though.
