When people pull up outside your house early in the morning (to give a neighbour a lift) and they have the engine noisily 'idling' for 10 minutes or more instead of being considerate and turning the engine off while they wait.
Every sodding morning. Don't need to set an alarm.

It's not as if it's the middle of winter and the car needs warming up. It's not an old car either.

Every weekend, they either go out or have people over and for some reason between 11pm-something am they have this crazy loud session of BYE BYEEEE SEE YOU SOOOON HAHAHAHAHAHA's all usually with a Diesel taxi waiting for this routine to end...usually about 10 mins) We live in a cup de sac and the sound just bounces off every house!! Then this is followed by loud recycling of bottles at some ungodly hour too! Wakes me every time and I'm just waiting for it to wake my kids, then I'll have to say something!! It's so inconsiderate!!!!!

Neighbours opposite:

  • Have three cars and son has a van for work - ALWAYS park at least one of them opposite our driveway which makes it impossible to get out without a 96-point turn.
  • Thier son gets picked up at 6 am by friend in pickup truck some days and he parks in front of our driveway with window open, music blaring, smoking, and then flicks cigarette butt into our flower beds Angry
  • They are in the middle of a divorce and disputing house ownership/value so have refused to do any gardening/work at front of house for last year and it is A TIP!
  • New neighbours one one side have 3 kids who spend HOURS everyday on trampoline screaming, screaming, screaming.... under my window, and I'm (trying to) work from home Sad
DesolateWaist · 15/08/2016 17:33

Most of my neighbours are lovely. There are only 6 houses in the village so it's just as well really. There is one though, who has poisoned my dog, stolen livestock, let his dog worry (by which I mean tear to pieces) my sheep, stolen the lobsters my husband caught when he was a fisherman (put him out of business in the end) and is generally an utter cunt.

What the actual fuck? Please tell me this a parody of a TV program or something.

miserablesod · 15/08/2016 17:24

My next door neighbours kids (all six of them) climb the fence and just stand there staring at us, despite me asking them to not stand on the brand new fence which is now wobbly.

The same kids throw their junk in my garden every single poxy day. Half eaten carrot today Confused But it can be anything from broken bits of plastic toys, to fruit shoot bottles, wrappers, food, paper and anything else which takes their bloody fancy.

I was thinking of putting an ad in the local paper advertising the new dump. Wink

mathanxiety · 15/08/2016 17:20

Neighbour to the north comes out on his back step to hack up phlegm every hour on the hour from 5 to 11pm nightly all year round.

Downstairs lady lets her dog out at 6am daily and lets him bark for about 40 minutes. Meanwhile her TV is on at top volume until she leaves for work at 7. We know she is home because the TV goes on straight away and then she burns popcorn

I feel a little murderous at times.

roseteapot101 · 15/08/2016 17:11

every friday or saturday night they have loud house partys till the early morning whats worst is their living room right next to my daughter bedroom as we are in a flat.

Livedandlearned · 15/08/2016 17:08

Pleasemothermay1 I wonder if you live next to my exh

Greydays · 15/08/2016 17:06

My neighbours ( rat people) come alive around 7 pm just as we put ds to bed, drives me mad, they start using power tools, sounds like they race up and down the stairs, they chop wood up in the garden with an axe (we live on council estate with electric fires etc) they have also made home made bow and arrows and stand shooting at homemade friggin targets so all we hear for hours is thump thump thump..... Music blaring loud whenmother isnt in shouting and the occasional smell of weed, wow when written down its bloody terrible, friendly enough and when i go complain its taken on board ( slightly) Confused

ParkingPatrol · 15/08/2016 17:03

Our neighbors had a go at me because I had asked them repeatedly not to park in our space, apparently I'm a pain in the arse because they just want to park their car use your own fucking space.

LordTrash · 15/08/2016 16:57

Extended grisly smokers cough every morning, accompanied by loud country and western music.

Liiinoo · 15/08/2016 16:55

It was the cockerel but it died. Smile. We live in London!

They dug up the whole of their front garden (no fences between us due to restrictive covenants on our naice private development .)and planted veg. Fair enough, but they never harvested one single thing. Everything went to seed/rotted in the ground until the following year they returfed.

The final one was bewildering but more funny than annoying. They tried to sell their house by putting a tiny piece of paper in the window with "FOR SALE - phone number". Pretty pointless we live at the far end of a quiet curl de sac and the only people who would ever get to see it are us, them and delivery men. It didn't sell and they are still there.

Whatsthatbrightlght · 15/08/2016 16:47

The man next door insists on speaking to us in French. We are not French, he is not French and we don't live in France Confused

Happyhippy45 · 15/08/2016 16:45

Cockerel, charcoal BBQ with easy light coals at the mere mention of sun which fills our house with smoke, whining children, banging around at all hours, passive aggressive coughing when I very occasionally smoke outside, slamming doors, inability to walk up and down stairs without it sounding like a herd of elephants, football bouncing off walls.
I'd hate to see what they'd write about us😂

LuluJakey1 · 15/08/2016 16:43

Teenage son who bounces a ball on the patio for hours and into their basketball hoop. It is unbearable! It makes me see red. It is just constant and jarring.

OnceThereWasThisGirlWho · 15/08/2016 16:42

Man in flat upstairs loudly mansplains/lectures all the time. Sometimes he has friends over and they all mansplain and argue together. I don't understand the language but I can tell it is that sort of thing! Periodically his wife says something I assume translates as "Yes, dear".

diamond457 · 15/08/2016 16:41

Mine are lovely but one of them always opens her front door when we go to the car. She puts everything directly in the outdoor bin too so all you hear is the bin lid opening and closing hundred times a day! Her husband has carers in so they too are putting things in the bin!
When she's putting things in the bin and sees your car draw up she stands at the door and waits on you getting out the car.

blaeberry · 15/08/2016 16:37

Last house had student neighbours on one side. We were really worried when they moved in but they were lovely. Worst we had was snowball fights at midnight which seemed to spread into our garden. Oh, and they decided to sort their garage out (old mattresses etc front) just as we were showing some prospective buyers round. Tbf they were really apologetic on that one.

Currently most neighbours are nice but I hate people playing music outside. Non do it too often but it ruins being able to relax in your garden.

KellyBoo800 · 15/08/2016 16:35

On the left we have a lovely old couple who are perfect. We give them warning if we are having people round and it might get noisy but they never complain and we try to be very considerate.

On the other side is a single (very attractive) man who I never see except for at 6am when I let the cat out of the front door and he happens to be leaving for work. I open the door, catch his eye and he gives me a weird look because he thinks I'm just opening the door to watch him leave. Happens at least once a week. I could just correct him and insist I'm only letting the cat out after she's been in all night, but this way is more fun Grin

insan1tyscartching · 15/08/2016 16:18

Our neighbour is always at her front door every time we enter or leave the house, it drives me potty, we rarely acknowledge her presence tbh but she must listen for our door opening to get there. I sometimes open and close it for no reason just to give her something to do.
She also hangs washing out every single day that I do probably so she has a reason to be outside at the same time because I wash for a family of seven and she is alone and cant possibly need to do a wash or two every day of the week.
Also when we cut the grass she has to mow hers immediately after even when she mowed hers a couple of days previously, it's almost as if she has some sort of personal competition with herself as to who has the shortest grass Hmm
Mind you she is quiet and causes no bother so I just inwardly groan at her idiosyncrasies and would hazard a guess that she has probably noticed a few about us too.

WaxyBean · 15/08/2016 16:13

We are now charged for garden waste collections - so one neighbour has taken it upon them to burn their vast amounts of waste, normally just when I have hung out a load of washing to dry.

Hidingtonothing · 15/08/2016 16:10

I know I should Mybread but I really hate conflict, especially when it's with people I have to live next door to. Providing we don't need to use the entry, which really only happens if we're doing any major work in the garden and need to get anything heavy or messy in or out, it doesn't impact on our lives so I guess it's easier to just let them get on with it. It's a HA property and we're waiting for them to come to do a repair which will involve them having to use the entry for access so I'm hoping it will be noticed and some action taken then. It's the cowards way out I know but I grew up with neighbour wars at my parents house and really don't want to go there again.

MyBreadIsEggy · 15/08/2016 15:54

Omg Hidingtonothing that's disgusting.
I would be ringing environmental health about that Confused

Hidingtonothing · 15/08/2016 15:47

We share an entry for access to the back gardens with NDN, they have at least half a dozen cats who live mostly outside and are prolific hunters. The entry is constantly littered with the remains of dead mice and rats and really unpleasant looking (and smelling) cat poo which they rarely clean up. We have to keep our bins out the front now because it's preferable to wheeling them through the disgusting mess, we also have to give advance notice if we're going to need to use the entry so they can do a big clean.

Xenophile · 15/08/2016 15:45

One side are lovely, the other side, not so much.

One of them phones his dealer on speakerphone and then shouts at it what he wants. (He's being ripped off)

They have left their bins in the yard for so long, they have their own civilisation. (And rats)

Refused to pass on letters to their landlord about the leaking down pipe which has now flooded my cellar to the point we can't use it until it's fixed. Not great as DS uses it as a studio to practice and record in and was hoping to turn it into a little business and now all the sound proofing is ruined Angry

However, I've just spent the last hour watching them steal the Co-op's big bins to put all the crap they've been throwing in their yard for the last year into them. Maybe they have a landlord's inspection happening. Might write him a letter.

I'll include all the above, plus the loud music until 0300, the loud porny sex and the throwing shit into their yard from the third floor windows as well.
