I think doing it whilest a small baby is in a cot is very diffrent to doing it while child of any age is in the bed next to you, also i just dont under stand how any one could get aroused when you basically eye ball to eye ball with your child

I sure in cultures were people live in one room or huts this happens but not in the wester world were we dont have 6 family memebers to a room not when you have the CHOICE TO NOT HAVE SEX WITH A CHILD SLEEPING IN YOUR BED NEXT TO YOU WHY WOULD YOU DO IT.

quite. just not your business. you don't want to do that? fine.

EclecticShock · 25/06/2012 20:38

People can be too uptight about sex, causes as many issues as it solves IMO.

Splinters · 25/06/2012 20:37

Why the hell did This Morning have these people on to argue about it?

Why the hell did these two women go on This Morning to argue about it?

Why the hell is the Mail bothering to report a debate that happened on TV?

Why the hell did you start this thread OP?

Who the fuck's business is it anyway?

RagamuffinAndFidget · 25/06/2012 20:33

It's not really the same to ask whether people would have sex with an adult family member in the room. Like Eclectic says - they're adults, not children, so would be aware of what was going on, which is where the line should be drawn IMHO. A sleeping child who is not capable of understanding what sex is anyway is not going to be harmed by something that they are not even aware of!

And to those who are asking 'wouldn't you be concerned about bouncing on top of baby?' - most couples these days have at least a double bed, and WTF kind of sex are you having?! I don't know about you, but when I'm in the moment with DH I don't suddenly get the urge to start doing Tigger impressions all over the place Confused

MrsHelsBels74 · 25/06/2012 20:19

I personally wouldn't but couldn't give a hoot if other people want to.

EclecticShock · 25/06/2012 20:17

Would you have sex if it was your mum/dad/sister/brother asleep in the room?

Not really comparable as they are adults.

KellyElly · 25/06/2012 20:16

Bluebird NO WAY THAT IS GROSS :)

Tambasher · 25/06/2012 20:16

Oh ditto! Smile

KittyFane1 · 25/06/2012 20:16

Lots of talk about 'no other choice'! Hmm
Unless the whole family lives in a tiny bedsit with one room only, there is a choice!
Do it in the bathroom, kitchen, sitting room instead.

Tambasher · 25/06/2012 20:16

Been a while this may not work but here it is,Enjoy!

BlueBirdsNest · 25/06/2012 20:15

Would you have sex if it was your mum/dad/sister/brother asleep in the room?

Many people think it's ok however I feel uncomfortable with it

crashdoll · 25/06/2012 20:13

Those who shag with baby in bed, aren't you worried you'll bounce on him/her or forget about her in the heat of the moment and baby gets hurt? I couldn't do it!

And I hate people saying first world problem because yes, we are a first world country. Therefore, most people have multiple rooms and don't need to have sex while the baby is there!

EclecticShock · 25/06/2012 20:13

Sex is not dirty and evil you know... That's how these little ones were created...there is another massive thread about it, just seen it.

Joiningthegang · 25/06/2012 20:10

I think I'm with ragamuffin

KellyElly · 25/06/2012 20:09

I'm thinking of a young child like the one in the post not a 13 year old. Clearly that would be very wrong!

nemno · 25/06/2012 20:08

I just can't see the big deal if a baby is asleep in the same room. It would be easy to have sex discretely, you wouldn't want to be noisy and risk the baby waking anyway. In family rooms on holiday surely this is normal. I am so surprised by this thread. If the baby is actually on the same mattress then I doubt I could relax enough worrying about squashing, suffocating or waking them. But in the same room, no problem.

ZZZenAgain · 25/06/2012 20:07

never felt the least inclined to do that. I suppose if you have no choice, it is something else but if I had another option, I couldn't see myself doing it.

RagamuffinAndFidget · 25/06/2012 20:07

If the child is young enough to not have the faintest idea what is being done, and is ASLEEP, then what's the issue? It is possible to have gentle, quiet sex you know. Some people choose to co-sleep for the benefit of their children, why should this also be at the detriment of their sex life/relationship?

AThingInYourLife · 25/06/2012 20:06

I don't really see the issue if it's a baby.

Mrbojangles1 · 25/06/2012 20:06

solidgoldbrass so were is the line one, two, three i just dont understand how yu can get aroused when your child is their snoring away i can think of no bigger turn off frankley

I will try find the other thread but it is something to do with ITV+ in the title! From this morning....still going stong I believe and no I don't agree with it, maybe when very tiny babies but then no no no no no!

I still have images of walking in on my friends mum and her boyfriend, scared for life me. WTF were they doing out of school hours?? Like 4pm... Grin Oh actually just remembered something but it involved a bathroom and locked door!

MikeLitoris · 25/06/2012 20:04

This will not end well.

Fwiw I agree with you op. Lots wont.

Mrbojangles1 · 25/06/2012 20:04

KellyElly sorry my child is 13 so no way i would i am not that over sex were we cant wait a week or just nip back in when their at the hoilday club

Or even just go in to the bathroom at least your in a diffrent room

OP posts:
solidgoldbrass · 25/06/2012 20:04

It won't actually hurt them (unless you thrash about and roll on top of them). It won't scar them mentally if they are asleep/ very young. So I don't thinl it's that big a deal if someone wants to do it.
