Anyone else irritated by the Lidl advert with the demanding child?

Anyone else loathe the Lidl advert with the little girl demanding to know if her father has bought exactly what she wanted, while he smiles fondly at the spoilt brat as he anxiously assures her he's obeyed her orders? Or just me being grumpy?

She’s revolting. I don’t understand this recent trend for celebrating detestable behaviour. The stair lift one with the stupid child making her disabled granddad repeatedly go downstairs to get her stuff once she’s in bed is almost as bad. She’s got working legs and should be a bit more bloody organised.

I've detested that advert from the get go. So irritating that she demands her cheese, her bread etc .... arhhhhhh

I think we are supposed to feel admiration for the dad, who's actually managed to go shopping all by himself, and was even able to buy the right things.

Perhaps he needs some sort of medal for his achievement.

It’s awful. I thought the same the first time I watched it. The dad smiling indulgently while the child is rude to him. Ugh.

It is woke nonsense, as I think she’s supposed to be neurodivergent (specific food tastes). If not, she’s just a brat!

So many adverts are either normalising poor behaviour or just plain tasteless these days.

Came on to say that one gives me the rage.

Yep can't stand the Lidl one or the one where she makes her grandfather use the stairlift numerous times as she's forgotten things.

Meanwhile the vastly overpaid CEO's of the water companies don't sort out the massive amount of water lost through leaks....rant over.

Agree - it's one of the ones I either switch off or mute. The ad is not even slightly funny, I'm not sure where they were going with it.

It's just an advert. The premise is set up to showcase that you can get everything. It's not meant to be a portrayal of model parenting.

Yes, ads were so much better when they featured people being sexually harassed, people being slapped or women doing all the housework. Bring back the good old days!
