Sorry I just don’t like the word ‘superior’. Of course the taliban are atrocious. But they have been enabled.

1 in 4 women will be abused in this country. And a woman is murdered once every 3 days. Sure, we’d all prefer to live here obviously but let’s not pretend there aren’t huge problems here. The most dangerous place for a woman is still her home here in England.

However, I probably agree that Farage isn't the most evil person in the world. I believe that accolade goes to Ben Gvir and Smotrich. Their sheer depravity and blood lust knows no bounds. Yes there is of course much more to do. And the overturning of Roe v Wade is a travesty. Glad we don't have that issue here. Agreed re rape conviction stats in the UK.

But in the round, the West is significantly more superior when it comes to women's rights. We are equal before the law for a start. And we aren't the property of our husband.

Yes I’d rather live in the UK. But while we have made progress in some areas of women’s rights and children’s safety, I cannot celebrate superiority with examples like the above. We are living in truly chilling times.

When religion dominated society, Jews were hated for their religion. When race dominated society they were hated for their race. Now politics dominates, they are hated by the modern day political hate movement of ‘antiZionism’ .

Israeli citizens were subject to a terrorist attack of deliberate sadism on Oct 7th. Their defensive war in response has been the urban war with the lowest civilian to combatant ratio ever in history. They have taken great efforts, at risk to their own soldiers, to reduce Gazan civilian deaths. Hamas on the other hand, have taken no actions to protect civilians, in fact they have made statements - and taken actions - showing that they have the opposite aim. They refused to shelter civilians in the hundreds of miles of underground tunnels they built in preparation for the war with Israel they were planning to bring bring on the civilians of Gaza.

If you haven’t bothered to look into any of this, to put this war in the context of other urban wars, or in any context at all, that is because you have allowed yourself to buy into the antisemitic, demonizing blood libels against Israel. That puts you in the same camp as every other follower of previous attacks on Jews through history.

I am not saying this to attack you, but to make you aware of how hate campaigns against Jews have always worked. All the citizens who bought into them were ordinary citizens who believed the popular narrative they were sold, all thought it was true and all thought their views put them on the right side of history.

But failing to be curious rarely puts you on the right side.

I always think the Afghan regime is particularly terrible as women aren't allowed to see male doctors. But women aren't allowed to become doctors. Which means women aren't able to have proper medical care. This is half the population of a country in a world where modern medicine exists. Presumably the Taliban aren't husbands, fathers or brothers and none of them had a mother...

It’s a general question, which will differ where you are based and live, and your metric of what counts as evil, and obviously what your exposure to world events

Trump leads arguably the most powerful country in the world and has much control over what happens in the world - his decision impact millions globally in a way that other world leaders’ decisions won’t

A gang of them raped two nurses with such violence that the women had to have their uteruses and parts of their intestines removed. (By the way, the Houthis put women in cages and set fire to them.)

Meanwhile the Taliban has banned females from attending school, being seen through a window or being heard speaking in public. They cannot be treated by a male doctor, but there are no women in education anymore, so it’s not hard to work out what will happen in a few years. Suicide rates among Afghan women have risen sharply since 2022.

Misogyny and violence and abuse of women and girls takes place in every country. Sure it can be more sadistic in some countries, but it manifests in different ways in different regions. It’s not like ‘Western’ countries weren’t this barbaric - just go back in time. I wouldn’t claim superiority in the west when we have Western ‘leaders’ like Trump and Netanyahu killing millions of people including women. Most people harmed by wars and attacks are women and children - same is happening right now in Gaza which western countries have enabled
