Daily Project Round 10

Single, that sounds awesome! What was your impression?

I got the kids to sleep before 10pm, threw in a load of towels and for about a half hour was feeling a bit restless, so.... got the paint and supplies out and into the kitchen I went. 🤗
I wanted to get something done to make me feel like I am making progress without having to do a lot of prep which is really finicky and tedious.
So, I managed to paint the toe kicks and a bit of under-counter area and carefully free-handed painting the shoe molding, but I will have to go back and tape properly to finish it off. (Actually, my trick is to slide construction paper under the baseboard and just paint right along the bottom and carefully slip it out.)
I then painted a small baseboard in the living room and touched up various walls. Everything looks so fresh now!
After that I put the towels in the dryer, cleaned up, sorted the kids' laundry and put a load of their clothes in to wash.
I cleaned myself up, contemplated another bath, but decided washing up was good enough and put my pj's back on.
It's a bit warm here and was pretty hot while I was painting, lying on my side and belly to get down so low, even though the patio door is open and fans are on.
Anyway, decided I really needed froyo after that, so parked myself on the couch and ate right from the container. 😂 My kids would be so shocked at what mummy does when they're asleep. 🙈
Laundry just finished. Going to hang it up, brush my teeth (again! I had been planning to go to bed earlier...) and finally get into bed. It's 1:30am now... 😮

Had kids to Playland yesterday. I buy a season pass, so it's extremely good value and we've been almost every week since June for the rides , mini golf and the occasional treat.

Not much progress here, still staring at walls and maintaining status quo.

Afternoon was gone once we ate and my mum's IV was done and I cleaned up. I then spent some time chatting to elderly neighbour's family members as trying to help them become more involved in their sibling's care and they live out of country. I've been worried about this lovely neighbour who I used to spend more time visiting and who seems to have gone downhill in the past few months.

After that it was pretty much time to get dinner, but after a light meal both kids were crashing, so around 8pm I put a load of towels on to wash then I took Havoc out for a drive, found out there was an outdoor movie at a really nice park and headed there. Didn't stay long because of mosquitoes. 🦟

Baby was awake when we got home and kids were hungry, so put a meal together, had a bath and the kids put the towels in the dryer. 👏

The wildfire smoke created an errily beautiful sunset filtering out a lot of the sun's rays making to sun look like a very red ball. Pic is exactly how it looked.

First batch of pancakes are almost ready. Choc-chip w oats.
Have finished a latte (hot).

My mum's 1st IV is done, so will take pancakes off grill then switch her over to 2nd IV.

Will keep everyone posted. 🤣

It's afternoon and I'm just going to roll out of bed. Grateful my mum watched the kids so I could sort of sleep. My mum came to see if I was okay, Baby came in to say was hungry (tell grandma, darling), Havoc to say, I love you, Baby again because grandma was trying to see if Baby needed a diaper change and Baby only wanted me to check (just tell grandma you're okay right now) and Havoc about what to watch in tv (tell grandma that mummy said cartoons are okay).

Make pancakes

Woke up to vomit around 4am. Baby had crawled in with me and was sick. Not sure why. Took Baby's temp and it was essentially fine at 37.1c. That's just .5c above normal, iirc.
Stripped and re-made bed. Put some towels down just in case. Put duvet cover, sheet and pillowcases into wash which should be done soon.
Asked Baby what happened, why sick, tummy ache etc. Reply was a very indignant, I don't have to tell you anything. 😵‍💫😮🤦‍♀️
Ok, then.
Brushed baby teeth, changed clothes, washed face.
Changed my pj's.

Got baby a slice of bread with a smear of jam, half of a banana and some water.
Baby has just now gone back to sleep.
It's almost 6am and it's light out. Very smokey sky. Havoc's activity this morning is cancelled due to poor air quality. So, at least I can get a bit more sleep. 🤞
Laundry is almost done.

Havoc just told me I should buy a Swifter Power Mop because it has jets on the sides and is a "better way to mop."

kids school on YT: French numbers, colours, phrases and songs for about an hour, have moved on to English telling time and grammar.

Wildfire smoke has returned and made it hazy. Going to get kids out now while we can. It's already after 3pm. 😮

oh! Motivation is revving up to get back into painting. Paint store yesterday and bought paint and supplies. ✅
Spent a lot of time staring at big wall needing paint. ✅

I've just watched another. Those kids are awesome.
I like Chinese 5 spice to season sweet potatoes. I struggle to wrap my head around adding anything sweet. 🤷‍♀️Having said that, as a dessert, sweet potato pie, done in the style of pumpkin pie, is the exception, for me.

I need to go to sleep. It's now 2:30am. 🤦‍♀️

Part 2:

Got everyone fed, ready and i to the car by 12:30pm. Drove to pharmacy to pick-up medication and an injection for my mum. Took 30-ish mins. Drove to med appt, 20 mins. Parked and got everyone out and to doctor's office 2 mins before 1:30pm appt. 😅
Medical lab was next.
Done by 2:30pm. ✅
Drove to paint store, obtained discount for being a member of BCAA 🥳 Bought can of paint, roller brushes and pack of painter's tape.
Drove to shopping plaza and saw a niche grocery store I liked was gone. 😢
Went to pharmacy/mini grocery and bought an 8-pack of Perrier grapefruit, cake -mix and a tub of frosting to make for fun with the kids at some point.
Drove home in massive traffic and that took about 45mins. 😣
Ran into neighbour, chatted re legal matter
and neighbour is going to help out. 🙌
Made a quick and reliable dinner:
frozen salmon fillet, spread pesto on top and baked: chopped up zucchini from garden and tossed in evoo, s&p and garlic powder, added to baking tray. Meanwhile boiled up some pasta which I just tossed in evoo and pepper.
Kids had two helpings. 🏆🙌
My mum is tidying kitchen.
I've got Paddington on tv having pvr'd it. ✅
Havoc and Baby want to make the cupcakes, so I had better get on that before I fade.
I'm having a 2nd Perrier. (Wild person that I am).

News was showing your eclipse. Anyone watch it safely? Don't tell me if you glanced at it with your baked eye. I have already posted tonnes of safety info on another thread and couldn't take it if any of you lovely lot watched it or snuck a peek without proper viewing glasses. 😮

Managed to get into the garden last night.
Tomato plants planted by kindly neighbour growing aggressively. Hacked them back just as aggressively. Bastards.

Lettuce is still producing, but has pretty much maxed out as has gone to seed on the top

Picked a zucchini.

Today:
Got kids breakfast. Back to bed and lied down scrolling 30 mins.
Took a call re a legal matter I am researching. Had hospital calling in during it, tried to interrupt to say I had urgent call and needed to go, person ignored, tried again, person ignored, I yelled into phone, I HAVE AN EMERGENCY CALL ON THE OTHER LINE AND HAVE TO HANG UP.
Took hospital call trying to sort specialist follow-up appt and trying for phone appt as in-person is at 8:45am which would be very difficult (me on 4-5h sleep, get kids ready, help my mum, load/unload car, driving/parking) and would mean getting up around 6am. I have to draw a boundary somewhere. Next option was in September, but Havoc has gradual entry for school, so I'll be dropping-off and picking-up at different times in the morning to afternoon for a couple of weeks PLUS taking Baby to parent-participation pre-school. Add in other medical appointments my mum will need, mine, the kids (still need to book our wye exams) and my day is maxed.

Anyway, got my mum on her IV, then the 2nd one, mopped the floors after Baby peed as no diaper in as am toilet-training, so doing bare-bum at home.

Made oatmeal for the kids' 2nd meal and my mum's1st. Made coffee then toast for myself.
Typing this out on the 15-min break I've given myself. My alarm just went off and my mum has called to me the IV is done. I need to check Havoc's bum as just had a poo and Baby has a diaper on now and I can smell it is full 💩

Peridot, and I woke up to a text that a friend's partner died overnight. He had a sudden illness, but was due to come home, so obviously things took an unexpected turn.

Have got my mum on the 2nd IV and it's almost done. Put towels in a long wash with a lot of bleach, so have just put them through a 2nd wash to ensure it's all rinsed out.
Wiped kitchen floor of crumbs.
Made bed.
I'm grasping a bit to show productivity ...
