Loveliest place in the U.K.?

There have been a couple of threads recently about places that you want to get out of as quickly as possible - Newport, Stevenage, etc!
It got me thinking, which towns do live up to expectations? Where is the perfect U.K.-topia?

Knutsford or Ludlow - very similar market towns but I just love how pretty they both are.
Just back from a lovely walk in Tatton Park followed by a glass of red in The Angel in Knutsford - perfect Sunday. We don’t live in Knutsford (I wish!) but only a 20 minute drive away.

Opposite for me. I grew up in middle of no where and all joy sucked out of when you’re a teenager!!

I’m not far from Hungerford, I have friend who lived on the same road as George Michael. Every time someone visited they would say ‘oooh, just saw George getting home/going out!’
my friend never saw him once in the years they were neighbours!

Anywhere with mountains! I grew up in Snowdonia and it’s beautiful, I miss living there so much!… But I have lived in the Lakes District for 10yrs now and that is so beautiful too.

What is it like living in the Lake District? I would love to but worry about growing older somewhere remote (I appreciate there are towns but it's not close to a city which I have always done)?

Does anybody ever virtual travel using Google Earth? I do whenever someone mentions a great place to visit, either in the UK or overseas. You can get a sense of somewhere doing this.

Absolutely, any time I watch something like Grand Designs Australia or those Incredible Homes programmes in particular, I always look the locations up.

The Nothumberland Coast for me, just stunning.

Also Lake District, and Surrey Hills and the views from Windy Tower - officially Leith Hill but I'm sure it was the inspiration fir the cartoon version!

Some of the villages in Kent and Suffolk are proper chocolate box pretty.

The Yorkshire dales, particularly Swaledale, Northumberland, the Durham dales. But my heart will always belong to the North West Coast of Scotland.

Love where we live on South Coast.(Not saying where as often inundated!) a couple of hours from London, and Summer weekends ,people come down and sleep out! Like being abroad(well almost) Lots of Countryside to visit as well.Otherwise love the Cotswolds ,Sussex downs ,Kent and London(My birthplace so extra special!)

I live on the edge of the Cotswolds and most places around are ridiculously lovely. I do feel lucky to live somewhere so pleasant.
Personally though, Cambridge is my real happy place.

Absolute favourite places:

Arisaig, Isle of Eigg (Scotland)
St David's in Wales
Lake District
Ilfacombe
Dartmoor
Some of the beaches around Dorset (I forget the names 🫠)
Brecon Beacons

I wasn't too into Tenby, it was just kind of "meh". Surrey Hills can be quite nice, some good camping and picnic spots.

Im sure I've missed off loads of areas...

The very end of Cornwall is gorgeous as is Snowdonia, both a bit too isolated for me to live there though.

Goring/Pangbourne are somewhere I've always fancied living - George Micheal lived in Goring and it's lovely there. But more realistically I like Marlborough, Hungerford, Winchester - not too big but fairly central for everything in the South.
