I need to stop vaping

I've been vaping for about 8 years 🤢

I smoked for about 10 years and used an e cigarette to stop smoking and I was well chuffed!! Now I'm far more addicted to the vape than I ever was smoking cigarettes.

My big problem is the habit. It's in my hand 24/7, I'm on edge if I can't have it on me or if I don't have any refill.

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom 🙏🏻

Please help me kick this disgusting habit 🙏🏻

Nicotine gum is the only thing that keeps me away from my vape.

I'd suggest trying a replacement for the nicotine and swapping to a zero nicotine vape in a flavour you aren't keen on.

Me too OP. Been on 3mg nicotine for 2 years and am stuck, it’s the lowest sold.
The easiest way I found to give up smoking in the past is hypnosis, but it focused on cigarettes so not sure it would work for vaping.

Thanks for the replies girls!!

I'm on 6mg nicotine and even though I'm addicted the nicotine, I think I'm going to struggle more with the habit of just popping it in my mouth every 10 minutes 😩

During the day is going to be the hardest whilst at work but I think I'm going to to try and go cold turkey and get the sugar free lollies

I'll start on Saturday this week.

Wish me luck!!

@overthinkersanonnymus sugar free lollies! Kept my hands/mouth busy and tasted sweet like my vape. I eventually got sick of the lollies and just stopped buying them

Are you vaping nicotine? If so, that's the habit side- it's the addictive substance in cigarettes. The good news is that you have already given up cigarettes which are very bad for you, the reason you vape more regularly is that the amount of nicotine and the way you take it is lower, so that's why lots of little puffs are needed. I would look at the strength of the nicotine liquid, then think about either using a less strong one or mixing it with a 0% that way. All the usual distractions of keeping hands busy etc. you could even use a patch as a base amount of nicotine to wean yourself off that way. If you are already using 0% nicotine, it's a habit with your hands and so a slightly different thing to stop doing it, but you can do it either way.

I stopped vaping a few years ago - I was very much like you - very reliant on it and it is easier to vape than smoke.... I went down the nicotine strength reduction route, rather than the limiting times route. What strength are you on?
