Restarting VLCD (Slim&Save) for Christmas weight loss

Hellohelo · 29/10/2017 07:36

Hi I've read mumsnet for a while but decided to join up to see if anyone is in the same boat as me.

I recently did Slim&Save VLCD for a month and lost 1.5 stone which was great. I then came off it to give myself a break and enjoy food, intending to get back on it and lose the final stone. Thing is it's been so hard to get back on it after a break!!! I've had about 3 failed starts over the last month.

So I'm now looking for support from you lovely lot! Is anyone else restarting or starting for Christmas? I made an order last night and ordered the Christmas weight loss calender they had free on the site, so hoping that gives me the inspiration I need!! I will start tomorrow (Monday 30th October) but going to wean myself in by not restricting myself to 4 packs as I know I'll be starving, so I will start properly on Wednesday 1st November. Because I like round numbers!

Anyone want to join me?

Me! I’m restarting slim and save with four stone to lose ☹️ But know I need to do something. So yes as of tomorrow I will be joining you.

Great! We can do it together! That 4 stone will fly off don't you worry! What are you hoping to lose by Christmas?

I've just realised that I've been off the SS diet for 2 months and I weigh the same today as I did when I stopped the diet! And I've eaten what I liked. I'm actually looking forward to getting back on it.

Hello! I'm going back on Exante today. I need to do a bit of a longer term weight loss drive, but just thinking about up until Christmas would be a good start!

How much are you hoping to lose by Christmas?

I really want to lose 1.5 stone, but I'm telling myself that I'm not a teenager anymore so can't be too slim! So only aiming for 1 stone. I should get there before Christmas really but I'm accepting the fact that I may cheat

Ist 2lb would be good to get to a round number to start 2018 from!

You don't really have that much control over how much you lose on a VLCD though do you? You just stick to it and then your body kicks off the weight as it sees fit!

I will also have days when I eat, but I'm going to try and make these planned occasions (eating out with friends etc) rather then accidental cave ins.

So we're both aiming for a stone loss then that's good! No you don't have any control, but it's supposed to be a stone a month, so I'm thinking a stone in almost 2 months is achievable.

Are the Exante foods nice? The pizzas and wraps look lovely, but I don't want to risk it! I tried New You Plan before I did SS and I didn't like the food as much as SS. I actually enjoy SS food and am actually quite looking forward to getting back on the wagon.

I’m aiming for two. I would love two and a half but maybe that’s wishful thinking. I’m sick of feeling like an elephant. It worked before but life stress got in the way. And I really need to be healthier for my kids. One stone completely doable.

Shall we check in every Monday?

Me too! I bought the stuff last week and have sort of half done it this week because it's been half term but I'm ready to go for it from Monday!

Brilliant looks like there’s a few of us raring to go. I feel heavier than ever and I know slim and save works so need to stick to it.

It's great there's so many of us! I've gone all out today, went out for lunch this afternoon and will be having Chinese takeaway tonight!!

Monday is a good check in day. We can do weight lost every Monday (rather than our actual weights if you see what I mean).

I’ve done the same. Eaten freely in preparation for tomorrow. I’m hoping for a good first week weight loss. Four stone seems such a huge amount to lose. Then I lift one of my kids who weighs just over four stone and realise how much extra I’m carrying Confused

Day one! I've done my first weigh in, and just about to have a strawberry shake for breakfast! Feeling positive, especially as my weight is only 1lb more than when I finished SS 2 months ago!!! Proud of how I maintained with no effort!

Never heard of S&S before! I have 6st to lose and the 3st in 3 months would be a great start. Is it worth the money?

Report
Msqueen33 · 30/10/2017 11:38

@Babybrainx2 yes it is. They also have two great Facebook pages. Yes it’s hard but the results make it worth it. I’ve piled weight back on as I didn’t make permanent changes and am a very stressful point my life with one of my kids so it’s all gone wrong but it’s a great diet and the food is nice.

Do you think the 3st in 3 months would be realistic if I stuck to it 100%?

Report
Msqueen33 · 30/10/2017 13:31

Yes I think so. Normally they say roughly a stone a month. So easily do able.

I posted a reply but it doesn't seem to have posted. 3 stone in 3 months is more than doable. I lost a stone in my first 2 weeks and I didn't have a huge amount to lose. They say the more you have to lose, the more weight you lose. You just have to drink loadssss of water

Thanks! I'm going to order a months worth tonight and see how I get on :) Depending on how quick the delivery is, I might be able to join you in starting on the 1st!

I lost 3.5st with slimming world after my 2nd was born, but have gained 2st back (got married, lots of left over cake! and just content evenings watching tv and eating chocolate on the sofa)

Need to lose 6st, preferably 7st.

Hi, can I please join in too? Have loads to lose, around 4 stone. I am going to do Cambridge diet as I have done it before (just never stuck to it, but determined this time!)

Have loads of Christmas events coming up, would love to lose 2 stone, but 1 1/2 would be good too!

Good luck to us all!

It's usually next day delivery! It's great. I've actually managed to stick to it fine today and not hungry at all, so today is going to be my day one, but it doesn't matter if we're all slightly different days, we can still support each other!

I fell asleep on the sofa at 9 last night so didn't get round to ordering so will do it as soon as the kids are dressed this morning. Looking forward to the increased energy I've read about after a week or so!!

Well done on getting started!

Can I join you? I started Exante last Monday and am 10lb down!

Report
Hellohelo · 31/10/2017 11:08

10lb down that's amazing! I weighed myself this morning and hadn't lost anything but then I hardly drank anything all day yesterday. So now it's 11am and I've had almost 2 litres!

my order has been completed and is going out today so hopefully I'll be starting tomorrow :D Do you couple it with exercise or just stick to the diet?
