Hi we’re spending a few days in Suffolk shortly. It’s our first time with a dog can anyone recommend places to go?

Aldeburgh - walk up to Thorpeness along the beach and stop at the pub and then inland past the windmill back into town.

Dunwich Heath - loads of walks.

Southwold to Walberswick and back. Great pubs everywhere in fact.

Southwold (although I think dogs have to be on a lead in the beach), Minsmere nature reserve, lots of areas around there..

Great thanks. Just hoping the sun shines a bit so we can appreciate the pub gardens

Whilst some stretches of beach don't allow dogs during the summer months, many including Lowestoft, Southwold, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe have parts to the north and south of the main beaches which do all year round.
Dunwich beach does allow dogs year-round and dogs are really welcome at The Ship Inn - staff will often give your dog a biscuit!
Sutton Hoo - Dogs are allowed to walk around the estate, with two different walks on offer, but aren’t allowed inside the museum.
Framingham Castle - there’s loads to explore, and dogs on leads are allowed in the grounds.

The South Kiosk in Felixstowe makes delicious cakes and home-made sausage rolls and your dog can slurp on a doggy ice cream (with gravy bone).
