What to wear with a navy blue t-shirt?

I have to wear an navy-blue airtex type top for work. What should I wear on my bottom half? Nothing really seems to go and I always look a mess.

Can you wear anything at all? I'd suggest something either red or white would go well with navy. I put DD in a navy t-shirt with red trousers a couple of days ago and it looked very smart.

anything in the whole world goes with navy tops. pink swirly skirt,yellow bermuda shorts, orange maxi dress... jeans?

Does everything go with it fishie? I usually wear black or grey trousers and it just looks crap. I'd love to wear a pink swirly skirt or red trousers to work but am not sure I coud get away with it.

In a school. I don't want to look as scruffy as I do. But i also get covered in paint/ snot/ wee/ lunch every day so it has to be practical.

would you ever wear navy otherwise?

i say it goes with everything because i know it suits me way better than black. so i use it that way, as a basic colour to put other things with.

could you wear scarf or vest underneath with your more preferred colours?

and yes i do wear fairly bright patterned bottoms with navy top.

how about these? not sure how the colour would come up in rl but going by the picture I think they'd go really well with navy. I think they are gorgeous and could be worn with ballet pumps/flats or wedges.

No, I never wear navy otherwise. I don't think it is a good colour on me. But I shall experiment and try new colours and maybe some skirts. Thanks for the help

I also like navy with khaki and theres loads of khaki chino'y type trousers in the shops at the moment.

Which you can wear rolled up with chunky heeled sandals.

herbietea, I got one of those skirts as a gift last week! (and have a navy t-shirt from last year I plan to wear with it!)

I feel your pain... I work in a nursery school and have to wear a purple polo shirt. Nothing goes with it.

In any other job I would suggest white linen trousers to go with a navy top, but not in that job!
