these shoes

I am giving up on my original choice of shoes (sold out, sob) and dress and moving on to thinking of buying shoes first and finding a dress to go with it... is that a good idea?

What do you think?

Going shopping, so will be back later for opinions stylish people....

Sorry but I think you should choose the dress first then the shoes

Those shoes are reduced for a good reason

I normally buy dress first. But sometimes you just need a starting point. What's the occcasion?

lovely shoes. Are you going to buy a purple dress?

Love the shoes, but I personally think purple is not a good summer colour for a dress, and does not look good with a tan.

No fear of me getting a tan, I am celtic paleness personified, with the occasional touch of fake tan to take the blueness out of my legs.

The shoes and outfit are for a wedding, 12 noon until 12 midnight, ceilidh after the meal - relaxed wedding, so I need not look too formal iykwim.

I would really like to wear the dress again, but if it is not expensive then I don't mind, but the shoes I will wear again, lots.

Do you not like the shoes Eldon? What would you suggest as an alternative?

I am a curvy and short (5ft) size 12, slimmer on the bottom half, due to 32f norks, good legs, but they are lacking in length.

The shoes just seem a bit wintery and it's always good to reconsider sale items and ask why no one else bought them at the original price

However if you love the shoes then buy them

At this rate Eldon, everything will be in the sale by the time I get round to buying something, looked like all the shops I was in were preparing for sales today, or had already started.

So assuming you buy the shoes - purple for the dress?

brokenspacebar · 24/06/2009 21:56

Yes, I think so, but I feel so indecisive now, have looked at too many clothes, shoes accessories !

wfg, I am slowly reaching the conclusion that dresses that fit are impossible to find! I really should go and buy a skirt and top.... if every woman spends as much time trying to find something to wear as I have the mind boggles... glad I rarely get invites to weddings, as all my friends seem to either be married or confirmed bachelor types.

I can't get over how hard clothes shopping can be, no wonder people stick to jeans etc.

boriing ? but they would go okay with the original spotty/cream dress?

I like those shoes spacebar, and if they go with a dress that you already like then I would go for it.

I find I always think there are loads of beautiful dresses in the shops but when you have to find one for a particular occasion none of them look quite right.

If you're not sure about those shoes (they're really not boring btw) have you got time to go to a personal shopper? Years ago I went to Selfridges having spent two weekends trawling the shops and they found me a Ghost dress that I still wear

I think I might get the shoes tatty, I usually go for quite colourful shoes and keep my outfit plain.... suppose if the dress is spotty plainer shoes would be fine?

It would save me time... I have already spent tooo long looking at clothes for just one day....

No way I can go to a personal shopper, this time, because the nearest decent one would be Edinburgh, I live 160+ miles north of Edinburgh....Aberdeen is nearer but not sure it would be any good as it is over 2hrs of terrible road away.

why not order a couple of dresses online and save you a trek to Aberdeen?
