Dress help for dd please

DD1, 14, really wants a dress like this -
but a dress, not a top.

Any ideas where we can get one? The only ones we've seen are Ralph lauren and Tommy Hilfiger (sp?) and ludicrously expensive. She is 5'7 and a size 8.

Thanks in advance.

Stripe polo t-shirt - she wants one that shape but a dress.

Does it have to be stripey?

They quite often have plain ones in sports soccer. Aren't they called tennis dresses?

It has to be striped, she says!

But thanks for the help so far.

Thanks for looking Clure - but she doesn't like those! Shame, as I like the price!

this goes up to age 14 though maybe too small?

janeite · 21/06/2009 20:58

Thanks Clure - saw that on earlier but they only have it in tiny sizes.

have you tried places like matalan, primark and asda?

Report
janeite · 21/06/2009 21:18

Sorry - don't 'do' Primark or Asda and never been to Matalan.

Buy 2 tops and weld them together. Gok would be impressed, particularly if you went obtained embellishments from a habadashery.

Do you have a Ralph Lauren outlet near you?

DH bought me one from an outlet for Christmas last year .

Anyway they are quite cheap in outlets.

ThePhantomPlopper · 21/06/2009 21:30

Hmm I used the word outlet far too many times in that post.

Report
janeite · 21/06/2009 21:32

No outlets as far as I know! But just about every high street shop you could think of!

Would either of the top two here be any good?

Report
janeite · 21/06/2009 21:34

Thanks Ewe - but she wants a collar. And there is no way I'd pay that much for a teen's dress!

Thanks Cookie - but none of those are right either! I think beth's description of them as tennis dresses is probably right but I have failed to find any except the Boden one that look anything like the right thing at the right price.

Just like that! But no good at all as only UK methinks. But I will look in gap and see if they do them. Thanks.
