Who wears Guerlain Mitsouko perfume?

According to something I read recently, it is the most classic perfume ever created or something like that. I have never smelt it. Anyone enlighten me?

I do have it but I think it is definitely an acquired taste! I tend to wear it if I am going somewhere particularly nice for the evening as it is quite 'sophisticated' - if you know what I mean?

Anyway, I am sure people either love it or hate it but it is one of those 'grande dame' perfumes that is a nice change from the ultra-modern stuff everyone seems to wear.

It is a great classic, but if you are used to flowery or sweet-smelling perfumes, you are in for a shock. It is really woody & spicy rather than sweet, though it dries down to a warm, spicy, amber-y smell. 'Modern' perfumes just don't smell like this.

I wear it in the winter, I think it is too spicy and strong for summer.
I love it it smells real IYSWIM
Agree with HelenMc1 that it is probably a love-hate thing.

Me!

DH gave me a humungous bottle for my birthday (salesgirl in JL persuaded him they have discontinued the small bottles)

Was once given a bottle of Samsara, but to me it smelled like Mr Sheen!

They have retained their best vintage ones - Jicky, Shalimar, L'Heure Bleue, Mitsouko. Those blends are 80 years old in some cases More about Guerlain

I don't like Samsara either tissy. LOL at Mr Sheen, you can imagine it lifting the veneer off any polished/painted wood!
I wear their Mandarine Basilic Aqua Allegoria in the summer. Definitely my favourite parfumeur.

I wear it! I love it. I have worn it for about 20 years, tried other perfumes, but tbh, 'new' perfumes all smell a bit synthetic to me.

I think it was created in 1919, so it's nearly as old as my grandma . It's quite unusual, quite a strong spicy scent when it first goes on (it's got bergamot in it - like Earl Grey tea) and it fades to a sort of warm woody, um, powdery sort of smell. Not a very good description, sorry. I wear it all the time, even in summer - sorry Marina! I am devastated pretty upset to hear that Mrs Thatcher wears it...

I'm not sure how you are supposed to pronounce it, I say Mit-SOO-ko. The first time DH bought some for me, before we were married, he got lost in John Lewis, grabbed an assistant and said "I've got to get some Mitsubishi for my girlfriend!' Luckily she knew what he meant...

Yeah, I wear it in the evening. I've worn it off and on for about 20 years, and it makes me really happy when I wear it.

my mother wears it..also opium and samsara....they are quite 'heavy' perfumes and suit an older person (eek! sorry) i dont' like them, they've been ruined by too many memories of my mother wafting out the front door in a cloud of perfume with her silver fox fur coat on in a cruella fashion.

I am intrigued now however not sure I want to smell like Mrs Thatcher!

Blimey, Mio!! I promise I never wear it with fur, foxy or otherwise, I'm a vegetarian! Honestly though, I personally do not find Mitsouko heavy or oppressive in the way that Opium, for example, is. But of course, perfumes smell different on different people. My SIL tried some Mitsouko as she liked it on me, but said it was completely different on her and she didn't like it.

Further to the Mrs Thatcher thing, not that I am obsessed by it or anything, I googled it and could only find her associated with Bluebell perfume. (Should that be True Blue bell?) So I feel reassured!

I wear it - dabble with others every now and again, but always come back to Mitsuko. When I put it on, I feel like me!
I love it so much, there's nothing like it and everytime I wear it, something interesting happens!
Am slightly worried because I am also partial to a Mrs T type handbag - it doesn't bode well...
