Wrinkles and spots! Help me with skincare!

First post on S&an so please be kind!

I’m nearly 40 and have struggled with bad skin (spots) since my teenage years. Whilst it has generally improved throughout my 30s, mask wearing has made them reappear especially around my mouth. At the same time, I also have wrinkles appearing also round my mouth and elsewhere. It’s a joyous combo.

Anyway - I’ve been using Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser but as it’s about to run out I’m wondering there might be something better for the wrinkles and spots combo?? Any tips?

Thanks xx

Nothing has ever beaten dermalogica for me. It's incredibly expensive, doesn't feel or smell at all luxurious, but it's the only thing that works well on my old, wrinkly, spotty skin.

Im 42 and so pissed off that I still have crap skin at this age!

I’ve been getting the odd spot due to mask wearing. I find Liz Earle doesn’t suit my skin at all, it makes it worse. These wipes are a real game changer, not cheap but you can often get discount codes on look fantastic & I use 3 times a week rather than daily.

My skin is very similar but I am 44, struggled with acne for years still now, skin is very uneven texture. I have subscribed to dermatica. It's £22 per month including p&p and my skin is the best it has been. I use it nightly and my first bottle so far has lasted 7 weeks you only need a small amount. I get a delivery every second week so great value I think.

Otherwise I use cereve face wash, eye cream and face cream as my skin is rather dry due to the retinol

My skin has been transformed since I’ve been following Caroline Hirons. She’s got a great blog and is also on Instagram and has some older vids on you tube too. Her book is also really informative. I know some people on MN really don’t like her, but I really do and my skin is so much better now.

Following with interest as a spotty, wrinkled forty something!

I would use Retin A at night followed by an SPF 50 and a good moisturiser in the morning. Have a look at Dermatica and Skin and Me for prescription strength tretinoin without the hefty price tag.
