Shampoo and conditioner

Morning all!
A boring thread I know but just wondering what shampoo and conditioner everyone uses and if you use an all in one or separates? I normally buy whatever’s on offer and do a hair mask a couple of times a month. I ask for birthday and Christmas for body shop banana shampoo, conditioner and a tub of the hair mask, it’s gorgeous!

It’s really nice! If I buy it myself then I normally wait till they have some sort of sale or a % off code on vouchercloud. I’ve also been using this which is really nice! As you can tell I like banana!

Was talking to mum the other day about it and she was being a bit snobby I thought when she said she doesn’t buy cheap shampoo/conditioner. I’m not bothered, I’ll use nearly anything but it got me to thinking if there is a difference in quality between high priced and lower priced?

I use Olaplex and Fanola once a week (bleached hair). Every couple of weeks I’ll use a cheaper one to do a deep cleanse and make my hair feel refreshed.

I use the colour protect ones from Aldi and my hairdresser always comments on how shiny my hair is. This made me decide that you don't necessarily need expensive products, you just need the right products for your own hair.

@MissCharleyP what’s involved with the deep cleanse? Do you leave the shampoo on for longer?

BeansOnToast123 No, I usually shampoo twice with a shampoo for greasy or normal hair to get rid of any excess build up then use my usual conditioner. If I’m off work I’ll sometimes just let it dry naturally and not use any heat/products for a couple of days.

What’s the deal with sulfates? Are they really bad for hair? I’ve noticed in the supermarket bottles with ‘sulfate free’ or not sulfates’.

I've recently started with Faith in Nature grapefruit. It's lovely, light enough for everyday use. My hair hasn't looked this good in ages and smells lovely. 6quid for both on Amazon

I've started using tescos own shampoo no conditioner and my hair has never looked better. So thick!

Aussie. It's by far the best affordable brand imo.

Aussie mega shampoo and Ren conditioner. Best conditioner I’ve ever used, you need so little and works wonders.

If you like banana try XHC from b&m/Poundland
£1 a bottle!
I've gone from using £££ silicone products to the curly girl and my hair has never been better

I find the idea of smelling like bananas somewhat repulsive tbh. I cannot imagine why anyone would want to smell remotely of banana. It just appears to be a wild attempt at being green.

I do however rate the scent of Sally hershberger moisture rich (tk maxx) or good old Pantene Repair shampoo and conditioner. They both smell like luxury in a bottle. Or the Dove Nourishing secrets Avocado and calendula. Heaven, pure heaven.

I buy whatever's on offer but like Pantene. I wouldn't buy anything as expensive as those sold at hair salons. But I wouldn't buy Tesco own brand (don't know of they even have it, but as an example). Separate conditioner as the all in one isn't enough.

I use the banana XHC as it's the best on my hair - TBH I'm not a massive fan and I love the smell of Aussie and Dove stuff but I don't use anything with silicone or sulphates, or any shampoo. Just conditioner
I do like the green tea XHC too, and also as I am co wash

I like the banana one from poundland too it feels quite rich I don't use conditioner often though maybe once every couple of weeks.
The ginger shampoo (not the colour the flavour) is also really good that feels clean and fresh and isn't quite so sickly smelling as the banana.

@ClientQueen and anyone else using non silicone have you noticed a difference since using silicone free products?
I’ll have to keep an eye out for xhc, I haven’t heard of that so will give it a try.
I’ve used dove a few times and liked that.
