Marimekko x Uniqlo

The new Marimekko prints collection was released at Uniqlo today. Anyone else excited about it?

Or am I the only who had an alarm set to place my order at 7am?
I've ordered a couple of the short sleeved tops, Heat Tech roll necks and socks. Love the light weight down coats as well but really don't need another coat at the moment...

I liked the down jackets but have no need for one, I was tempted to order other stuff but I've got too many clothes.
What is the heattech like to wear. Is it like a thin fleece?

Ha ha yes, I also had my alarm set for 7am and had placed my order by 7.30am. They've got some great clothes at very reasonable prices. The quality for the last JW Anderson was really good so I'm expecting the same with Marimekko. I just linked on another thread actually to one of the Marimekko dresses that I've ordered.

MikeUniformMike Heat Tech is not like fleece, it's more like t-shirt material (but synthetic), quite thin but warm. I've had their basic Heat Tech tops for years and they seem to last and last and make great base layers under jumpers etc.

I have a couple of the Marimekko short sleeves from their previous collab and they are also lovely quality and wash well, so I'm excited about these!

lovely prints and the jackets are nice but OMG the dresses are shapeless. Such a shame and waste of gorgeous prints. It was the same with the orla collaboration. Gorgeous prints but the style of the dresses were poor.

Thanks @viccat. Might order some heatech as xmas prezzies.
The dresses do look shapeless. The tops look a bit boxy too. The down jackets are nice but the coats might make me look like I was wearing a bedcover.

Agree about the dresses. I had an Orla Kiely print dress from there in the same shape some years back and it was pretty much like wearing a sack... plus the fabric was strangely stiff so it didn't hang, it just stuck out.

My order arrived this afternoon. Really love the prints! The T-shirts run a bit big (I'm a 12 with ample boobs and the Small fits perfectly), the Heat Tech turtlenecks seem smaller than my previous HT tops (Medium is a tight fit) but they'll be perfect as base layers as intended.

I love the down coats but having just splurged on a full-length Cos one, can't justify a Marimekko one too.

Bought three of the t-shirts in store yesterday, the prints are lovely and nice thick cotton. I'll be French tucking them into my trousers and layering over long-sleeve roll-necks until the spring

Was a bit disappointed that the quilted scarves are so puny, they would have been amazing if oversized. The floral print they have used is one of my long-time favourites though and both the blue and orange colour ways are gorgeous.

Part of my order arrived today - just some socks and one of the printed (orange/olive) down jackets. I'm not sure how I feel about the jacket to be honest. There's nothing wrong with it, I think I'm just struggling a bit as Marimekko is a bit mainstream for me. It makes me feel old and frumpy for some reason. I think that's my hang-up rather than anything wrong with Marimekko though.

I've ordered some roll-necks and one of the dresses (the green belted one that has disappeared from the website so assume it's sold out) that everyone on this thread hates and I'm looking forward to those arriving.

I got my order today. I bought the down coat in the grey and it’s amazing. I also got some of the sleeveless dresses but am going to return them as they don’t hang right. I also got the green and purple patterned knitted dress which is fab. I regret not ordering t-shirts so another order may be forthcoming. I love Marimekko ❤️

I'm usually not a print/ pattern person at all but I love Marimekko. I got 3 x of the tees! Love the coats but as we are venturing into the aus summer (or rather 6 months of contstant hellish heat) it wouldn't be a practical purchase. I liked the dresses but fear might veer into frump on me (don't have the height - 5'2 and am very ample of chest...just doesn't seem to work with boldly printed dresses...)
Live in the sticks so prob won't get my delivery for another week... bless online shopping...

I wore the printed (olive/orange) down jacket for the first time today and I've decided I really like it. It's very lightweight but it kept me nice and warm when I was outside for 3 hours (at 7 degrees C). I'm note sure how effective it would be if it was colder but definitely does the job right now. It's a winner.
