Are these too small? Am I too large?

Basically, does my arse look big in this!! Asking because I kind of like them, but they feel a bit tight in the front even though there's a gap of 2finger widths between my back and the waistband, so surely the next size up would fall down? and I don't want to be a 14

So, mumsnet stylists, are they wearable?

(They are properly black, but I lightened the photos so you can see the detail on screen)

They look fine to me!

Is that you in the picture? I think they look fine but you'd need to wear a thong because I think I can see a VPL in the last picture.

They look lovely, you just need slightly different pants under them.

They look great, you have a lovely figure!
Can I ask where they are from?
Are they velvet?

They're these ones.

Thanks Blush Unfortunately the rear end is ever expanding [sigh] and none of my last year's trousers fit.

I'm not a thong kind of person, would short type pants work better?

Shocker ‘Woman wears knickers’

You have a lovely figure, can I suggest a bikini instead?!

Or I’m sure someone will be able to link to the trendy plastic clothes!

If you’re a 12, people REALLY need to stop banging on about ‘modern 12s’ meaning people are overweight FFS

I wish I’d appreciated it when I was much slimmer! Enjoy it & don’t worry so much 🌷

They look way better on you.

But you can see from the model shits that the cut/fit isn’t quite right even on her.

They look like they finish in a weird place on your torso. Are they hipsters? Could you do a full body shot?

If you’re not comfortable in them then don’t keep them. I can’t stand clothes you have to keep hoiking up or down. It makes the whole day annoying.

You can get no-vpl knickers that just look like regular knickers. They sell them pretty much everywhere that sells women's underwear.

You look really good in them. Not too tight at all. You have a lovely figure. I'm a bit Envy.

I normally only buy trousers with a pocket detail on the back of them as I once read that it makes your backside look smaller. I once had a pair of trousers without, that I saw in a photograph and they looked awful. I didn't realise when I ordered them that these don't have a pocket at the back, just the slit detail. Is that enough?

They say they are medium rise. Not sure if that makes them hipsters or not?

I think they look really good. Keep them! I can't see your knickers ( it's the sort of thing I worry about, blame my mum) and I really like them. Now wondering if I should try a pair

And I'm happy bootcut are back as I have 3 pairs of bootcut cords from about 12 years ago which I've hung onto!

@IncrediblySadToo she asked for people's opinions?? And she asked specifically about how her mum looked?? Bloody hell you can't even state an opinion when it's been specifically asked for these days.

You look lovely in those. And a point you might like to consider when you are worrying that you have a big bum (which you don't) Shapely women look womanly and sexy. And how many times do you look at other size 12 women and think "My God, look at the arse on her! She looks terrible!"....not many, I'll bet!

Passthewipes · 15/10/2019 11:52

I think they look great! Regardless of size you look perfectly proportionate, and are lucky to have such a flat tummy! Have a bit more confidence. Maybe they will give with wear, and just feel tight because they are new

They look a bit tight but as other have said that maybe because of your panty line showing. So it maybe that your pants don't fit properly and are giving you a cutting in line or it could be the jeans are too tight. It's hard to tell.

They look ok in the pics, maybe a bit tight at the front where the fabric is pulling, but are you comfortable? I wouldn't be in trousers that are tight at the front and gape at the back. You might be better off with something with a higher rise. They probably just aren't the best shape for you. You even say "I kind of like them", I think you should find something you love instead.
