WWW's 6 week 10 year younger plan WEEK 1 with renewed summer vigour Aug - Sept, 2 weeks into term

Hello! This is week one of the SEVENTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007

( how did that happen?)

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a resuklt. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, especially in this heat
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Anyone who feels like it, post how you've been feeling since doing this and why you want to keep doing it. Add what you want to achieve at the end of it too if you want to.

    Here's mine:
I want to be a size I'm happier with by ds's tenth birthday, which is 2 months away. I want to not want to cry when I see the photos.

I'm definitely going to sign up for this, I don't particularly want to loose weight but I do want to eat better and feel better within.

Hi Aufish, welcome aboard

ROFL at WWW for 'did you shag him'

Had my run, only 20 minutes this evening as it's already quite dark in the woods and I could hardly see where I was going. I'm now sitting here all red-faced and sweaty. Niiice!

Have slathered on plenty of sun-screen today and worn a hat.

www Thanks for the new thread. I haven't heard of Flexitol. I'll see if I can get some. The Omron pedometer, too. That goal you've set is coming up pretty soon, www. Are you able to set aside an hour a day or so for exercise which would help with weight loss and toning? That's what I struggle with, time for exercise.

Hi to Aufish, my FLY friend.

Hiya Aufish, were you someone else before?

Welcome!

SS, yes, it is pushing it. I reckon the challenge for me is going to be making sure I walk, I cannot BEAR the heat so won't go at lunchtime if it's hot. On the plus side, I have TWO Morons now (omron = moron, tm Sobernow for anyone who doesn't know) so I will at least be able to report on it.

ha ha, glad I made you larf DofN, don't sully this thread with my tone lowering comments though (winnie, did ya? )

This is my last bad night so I am drinking red wine (moderately) as back to work tomorrow after a week off, it will be a SHOCK getting up at 6am again...

Flexitol is truly fab. The fish told me so and I now agree. I've tried other foot stuff, it's crap.

Good luck for the new course - no veils needed yet!

tandoori chicken is fine
no naan ideally
no poppodums
but y'know if your happiness depends on it...

I love naan but I do love tandoori chicken as well, so that sounds a good plan!

We're taking 5 children as well, so fingers crossed it all works out well!

Have just been Aufish since joining MN, became AufishFeQueen last week as I am always ironing and the girls on the Fly thought it was high time I came know as Aufish Ironing Queen. Au is the chemical symbol for gold - Fe is the chemical symbol for Iron. Come from a household that is big in the chemistry department!!!

Goodmorning everyone

Welcome AufishfeQueen

What do I want from the next six weeks? To smash through my latest goal weight (I've wavered for a couple of weeks)& hopefully drop another dress size. I also intend to up the exercise.

Yesterday I did more toning exercises, lots of gardening (wore sunscreen) drank lots of water, did an hours yoga & was early to bed and plastered in lotions and potions. I also ate very healthily and am happy
... which is NOT a result of getting a shag (for all those who are interested ) we didn't. Which is a first for me. Usually a shag on a first date means we meet again imhe and no shag means we don't. I can't say this is how I've ever planned it but that is, in the past, how it has seemed to work So this is a new experience for me lol Although he is VERY shaggable

One of my goals this time (and I think www was going to try this too?) is to try and invert when I eat - I tend to eat nothing at all until about 1.30, and then have a smallish lunch, and then a big late supper.

So I've had a bowl of muesli for breakfast, and then will have a proper lunch, in an effort to not eat too much in the evening. My other downfall is snacking - I usually try and not eat too much at mealtimes, but then snack on unhealthy things, so am going to try and have healthy snacks only, and proper meals.

Morning All not long up, had a long sleep with a load of lotions and potions on before bed. Just had a bowl of museli and a cup of coffee. My plan for today is to drink more water and not coffee, though to be honest I think it might be difficult. Am abit addicted. I get headaches when I try and cut back on it. So please help me fight the addiction!!

Morning all, (slinks in from behind forensic tent in which I have been binging). Where did those six weeks go???? Well, bootcamping has gone a little out of the window and may suffer a bit this week as we have to eat the contents of the kitchen cupboards by Saturday. Everything seems on track for the move and I'm not too stressed (at the moment). Glad the date went well Winnie, when are you going on the next one??? Hope everyone enjoyed the good weather, it was rubbish here but we should be acclimatised for an Aussie winter. Off to do something organisational now, have a good afternoon all.

yoyo · 06/08/2007 13:03

In the middle of our move but thankfully not going across the world (Bamamama - don't know how you are staying so calm). This has been one of the most stressful moves we've ever done and it is down to all the crap that you gather with three children. Can't move in to our house for a few weeks which is adding to the problem.

No gym, healthy food, swimming or lotions and potions for a few days. Have drunk a bit but so tired that I ususally fall asleep pretty quickly.

Winnie - sounds as though the date with very shaggable bloke went well .

The place we're staying has loads of unflattering mirrors of the deep, dark truthful kind I fear. Once that lorry has driven away then I am returning to the fold on a mission!

Wow, Winnie, the date sounds fab! I didn't realise it is your wont to shag on a irst date though, ha ha, always worth doing I reckon, dh was originally a 1 night stand...

Ts, yes, agree re smaller evening meals.

Batters, yes me too although I have been slacker than you I think.

I feel awful, have come home with dodgy stomach, no idea what I ate to cause it(sorry, tmi)

100g granola
5 hard boiled quails eggs with celery salt
an apple
a piece of wholemeal bread with butter and Marmite

plus
perfect skin vitamin
agnus castus
milk thistle
and lots of water. Just realised I used an old plastic water bottle that ds had been taking to school, fished out of my car early this morning and refilled at work, I wonder if that was it? Bleurgh anyway. But on the upside, doubt I'll eat anything else today and will certainly have an early night.

Happy birthday Marina's dd, blimey, how time flies hey?

Aufish, thanks for chemistry explanation! you do ironing? wow.

bamamama and yoyo I don't envy your moves, it's all very hard work isn't it? And the description of loads of unflattering mirrors of the deep, dark truthful kind has me quaking in my boots yoyo. Talking of which I saw some photos of me today taken a month ago, not good. Really not.

So I am MOTIVATED!

where are prufrock, blackduck, sobernow, cerys and everyone else, hmm?

Aufish - I've never noticed a headache/coffee link before BUT... I ran out of coffee yesterday, couldn't be bothered to go and get any and have thus been coffee-free for 24 hours and I have an awful and hitherto, unexplained, headache. Which is why I'm sitting in the cool and not leaping round the garden with the DCs.

I have done well today and have only had the one cup of coffee! I usually have a stonking headache when I have a coffee withdrawal, its caused by the caffine and it makes me usually feel awful but some how I'm not being affected today, may be its to do with the spotty kid in the house who needs more attention than I do!

Just back from our Indian - had (under www's advice) tandoori chicken which was yum, a tiny bit of pilau rice (maybe one dessert spoon), no naan, and about 1/4 poppadum. So feel quite virtuous even though today probably wasn't that great in the grand scheme of things.

WideWebWitch · 06/08/2007 21:15

Well done Ts!

Batters, I am so impressed at 17,000 steps, I did 1,500 today! Indoors! That site sounds fab too

Coffee, well I am drinking it but yes, you will get a headache as caffeine withdrawal, absolutely. You can drink coffee on thsi plan if you want to btw!

Prufrock is probably in the Bahamas or somewhere, yes.

I've jjst had 2 sausages, peas and green beans and lots of water and off to bed before 10pm.

Does it actually count as a date if you didn't shag ?

I have just eaten two chocolate truffles (sent by my parents to Mr Inferior for his birthday. They have never got over the fact I finally snaffled a Nice Asian Boy) but resumed the swimming habit today after a week of poorliness. BUT the damn pool is on strange holiday hours and I could only do 30

Am putting together article at work on Surviving Christmas, with tips from liver specialists, and therapists, and all. Reckon it'll be a riot.

My downfall is tarka dhal TS, don't even look
Unless you count mucking out the washing machine x 5 and pegging bazillions of little pink t shirts up, I didn't get much exercise today, but also ate very little so am not fretting - for now.
Cannot believe dd is four already. She is going through a challenging phase at the moment - beating up poor ds and calling him a hairy bogger, so much so that he asked me mournfully at bedtime "Remind me mum, why did we ever want the Pea in the first place". "Errrr I'm really not sure son". Have popped a quick photo of them both on hols on my profile for a few days
Will check out that link tomorrow batters, thanks!
And respect to winnie - the last (non-shag) "first date" I went on was 20 years ago and look where that got me
