Another wedding outfit help one, will any of these do? (Pics)

I don't really want to have to buy something new (well, I do, but I can't really afford it) so will any of these suffice?

It's a marquee country wedding and it's been described as 'a festival rather than a wedding' and specified as not black tie. The groom will be wearing tweed. DP and his brother will both be in navy suits as its all they've got, and BIL's girlfriend will be wearing a mid length cream dress she's just worn as a BM, so quite dressy. Others are going more casual. I really wanted to wear a midi tulle skirt but again, money.

if its casual and described as festival then the green pleated skirt and camisole definitely. the navy dress with cream top is more formal and im just not keen on the burgundy for summer. what accessories have you thought of and what jacket/ cardigan?

4th one 100%

Like the burgundy options but they're a bit too wintery

actually changed mind, the navy one with the panel does make you look very tiny/small and flatters very well.

I love the 3rd outfit, in fact, where is it from? It looks totally gorgeous on you!!

I like the 2nd burgundy dress. We're not really having a summer anyway. What on earth does a festival rather than a wedding actually mean? Perhaps you should wear it with wellies (Glastonbury chic) Wink

2nd or 4th

Gold pleated skirt, but with a navy silk Cami tucked in? Not keen on white.

Another vote for the 4th - you look great in it

ILost don't get me started, I think I'm just going to ignore that and pretend it's a normal wedding!

I forgot to say the wedding is in September, but I did think burgundy wasn't the right colour.

I wore the navy dress to another wedding about 6 months ago, so half of me doesn't want to wear it again, but the other half thinks I should get the wear out of it. It makes me look tiny because it's a bit bloody tight!!

I wasn't sure if the cami and skirt was a little baggy? I'm not sure if it needs a tighter fitting top IYSWIM.

Accessories wise, I've got nude heels (court or strappy, will decide on day depending on how wet it is) and will probably just drape a scarf around my shoulders. I'm always boiling so I can't be bothered trying to find a nice jacket that won't get worn.

nilby that's not a bad idea, I love navy.

mrs sorry forgot to say where it's from. Skirt is from top shop and top is actually a dress from top shop with a pale gold bodycon skirt Blush

The pleated skirt with the cami tucked in makes you look thick around the middle. Which you are CATEGORICALLY not.

The last dress shows off your amazing figure and is dressy without being too much.

First burgundy is too casual and second is more night out than wedding.

4TH definitely!

Yes I agree with you about the waist part This

I was hoping you weren't all going to say the fourth, it means I won't be able to eat very much of the meal Grin

Can you tie a scarf or nice belt round the 4th? Although it shows off your waist (which is great by the way) - I feel it either needs something etc or colour?

ps - 2nd one is too burgundy for summer wedding but very nice

The other alternative is a tighter fitting top with the gold skirt, to give it a similar effect to the blue dress?

flowers in your hair. Real ones, no a fascinator.
The skirt and cami options are both lovely.

I would definitely go for a close-ish fitting Cami to define your waist and upper body.

A shawl or a short fake fur coat would look good for later on.

What accessories?

Report
burnishedsilver · 12/07/2016 14:10

The cream mid length bridesmaids dress that your bils gf is planning on wearing is the real issue here.

Fourth option, looks lovely

Please don't wrap a scarf around your waist, will look really weird!

Just embrace the festival element. Get totally pissed, dance like a loon, do an E and lie in a muddy puddle towards the end of the evening.

I quite like the idea of a tighter cream top with the gold skirt on a serious note.

ILove Grin

burnished I have to admit I was surprised to hear that choice.

I will have a browse for a tighter fitting cami and have the fourth dress as back up. I was thinking of putting flowers in my hair (I'm known for doing this anyway) but I don't know about any other accessories. I'm not a fan of necklaces on me (I'm petite and always look like a 6 year old who's raided her mum's jewellery box) but I might get some nice dainty stacking bracelets maybe.
